    Here's one about 4.5 from earlier this morning on my floating JSJ gill. Got a lot of rain last night, so I fished mostly in under a foot of water. With a warm ...more rain and muddy water, I often find fish right up on the bank because they can conceal themselves while still getting enough light to be a sight predator. A patch of grass close to the bank is almost guaranteed to have a nice fish on it.

    Loving this new toy. Swims even when I dead stick it (provided there's a ripple on the surface), or on the slowest crawl (about 2" per second, or around ...more a foot every 6 seconds). Very realistic paint job (I got mine used, so it'll need to be redone). The hooks I put on it (1/0 ST41s) were a bit big, so they tended to get caught in the joints. In short, a functional work of art that catches fish.

Only saw her on their bed (I didn't catch this fish on a bed, I just remembered a marking on its side) twice, but she was about 9 or 10.

      @abuley34 I throw it along shallow grass edges mainly. Biggest key is to fish it slow. Generally about one revolution of the handle for every 3-4 seconds.

It's funny watching tournament anglers struggle for a bite while I pull them out hand-over-fist. Haha

A few minutes before, I had lost a Muskie around 40" because a jet-skier blitzed by my boat at exactly the wrong time.

If it ...more was in Texas, I would've thought it to be around 7 or 8 pounds judging by the fight. It was sitting in about 6FOW right off a large boulder under a dam. With access to the current, these fish can make some serious runs, so be prepared.

      @ATLBassin don't wait them out. Smallies are so aggressive that of they're there, they'll feed instantly. Try drop-shots, shaky-heads, tubes, flick-shakes, ...more and anything else on a spinning rod.

      Nice job! Smallmouth bass are pound for pound the hardest fighting fish in freshwater. MUCH more of a battle than a largemouth, I've even had some fight harder ...more than Northern Pike
