    Got into some monsters yesterday on the north levee. would have had a 3rd bigger than the these but broke me off trying to lip it. water was kinda dirty and very ...more choppy and windy. wind was about 10 mph out of the South. I use a 7'3" medium heavy duckett micro magic rod, Abu Garcia Revo S reel, suffix 14 lb florescent orange line with a Rapala Skitter Walk- bone/chartreuse

    caught this 22" big mama about 30 minutes before dark Friday. Outgoing tide, Current was slow, wind out of the South at 4 mph, water was clear and calm. Slow ...more retrieve was the key that day. Caught 15 in the range of 15" to 18" but I turned them loose to get bigger for next year. had a great day of fishing.

    This morning turned out better than I thought it would. We had a lot of throw backs but had a lot of fun. wind was blowing out of the South at 8 mph, water was ...more clear and the bite be awesome and then die for about 10 minutes. All in all, perfect day for some fishing. Best bite for Pleasure Island is from 6:40p.m. to 8:40p.m., so get your gear and get out there.

    Caught this 17" male Speck around 9 this morning on a Black and Chrome Skitter Walk, 7'3" Duckett Micro Magic rod, Abu Garcia Revo S reel and 17 lb ...more suffix fluorescent orange Mono line. Water is crystal clear, light wind, overcast with light rain. It was a good start to the morning until the rain set in.

  7. Details: Spotted (Speckled) Trout with a watermelon Trout Killer, 1/4 Oz Jig Head under a popping cork

    My pops got this one 1st cast this afternoon in the ship channel right across the hwy from south levee road. wind was out of the southeast at 3 to 5 mph light chop ...more clear water and sunny. we were casting out to the tide line and that's where they were popping the water. we caught about 15 total but most were throw backs.

    Got this one at the beginning of the month in the North levee canal on Pleasure Island. wind was out of the north at 5mph, very calm and glassy. Water temp was ...more about 78 degrees. slow retrieve dragging the bottom, no jigging what so ever. this one was right at 18in.
