Hiked up above 3,000 ft and fished small mountain brooks and ...more waterfall pools for the Southern Appalachian Brook Trout. The only native trout (really it's a char) in the southeast.       Them brooks sure are pretty. We have a some in the ozarks they just were introduced a couple years ago but there still a little rare. Nice catch

    First rainbow trout on the fly. Fishing a private stream in the Great Smokey Mountains around 2000' where native bows hang. Casting into deep pools and where ...more the water was fastest and letting the worm drift. The falls provided oxygen for the warmer summer water that was around 60 degrees. They hit fast and the bite really turned on when the rain started to fall. They were all between 6-12".

    My first Great Smoky Mountains trout! This Wild Rainbow may be small but it is still a very special catch to me. Water was very high and murky from a previous thunderstorm. ...more Fishing behind boulders and any slack water. Moving upstream to find clearer water. The little river is 30 miles long so there were plenty of spots to fish. Weather warmed up to about 70* and was overcast. Water was very cold

      ya Browns bite better in murky water, I'm heading up to 4000 ft tmrw to fly fish for brooks in the upper reaches of Abrams and little river @Mason_Cizek

      Little river doesn't have to many brooks. Go higher up and you'll find them. Surprised you haven't caught a brown

      Highly doubt the brook, they don't get that big up there. Most likely a bow, but you never know
