  2. Fought this bad boy for 15 min and caught him with live shrimp on a circle hook on 20lb mono using a 7ft st croix rod and a shimano chronarch. I fell on my ass getting ...more to him, but it was all worth it!

      Mosquito island for sure
    2. j_reyes 0
I wade on the entrance by the island or on the side of skyline drive for flounders and reds
    3. Marcus Hernandez 0
I might wade there Saturday morning. I usually wade mosquito island. If you do stay to the right of it. There is a nasty drop off to the left.

  5. Details: Gulf Flounder with a Pink Gulp swimming mullet

The bite was really slow, and they weren't going for the chartreuse like usual. The pink swimming mullet was what really produced today.

    2. beastyfisherman30 0
I usually fish during the week due to work and school, but other than the flounder what's out there? I need to get on some reds
    3. Matt Dobson 0
Thanks man. Doing any fishing today or this weekend? May try to come down later today or tomorrow. FYI I usually wade the bay side.
    4. beastyfisherman30 0
@matt a really slow retrieve and I'm talking about SLOW. They were so picky. I also used a gulp mud minnow in nuclear chicken and I got bites, but they wouldn't ...more commit

  6. I am just getting into fishing and there is this spot next to my house. Would there be bass there, and what type of lure should I use? I know I have to fish to find ...more out, but what do you guys think?

    Largemouth Bass

    1. Brent 0
I just bought the hobie pro 12. It is plenty large enough. I can't imagine the 14' one. The 12' is large and stable. Can even bow fish from it.
    2. Swamp Mafia 0
Sounds good, I look forward to seeing you on the water some day soon.
    3. beastyfisherman30 0
@SwampMafia bro I've been looking at the Hobie pro angler 14 and I think that's perfect. I guess I have to start saving up money lol
    4. Swamp Mafia 0
Academy in humble has a good selection of kayaks. Most have a weight rating listed on the sign. Don't forget to add your gear (rods, tackle, cooler, net, anchor) ...more in to the weight limit.
    5. beastyfisherman30 0
@SwampMafia what are some good kayaks for a big guy?
    6. Swamp Mafia 0
Most of the lake shoreline is private property, so bank fishing is some what limited. Look into getting a kayak. It will expand your fishing 1000X
    7. beastyfisherman30 0

This is in the subdivision Lakeshore in atascocita. I catch cats all the time and wanted to see if bass would be in here. Or do you know of any ponds or any area ...more on the lake that are good for bass?
    10. Swamp Mafia 0
If you can get out there at or just before sunrise try top water or a buzz bait. The lake also holds some large cats. @jonholbrook thanks for the heads up on ...more new anglers on the lake.
    11. Swamp Mafia 0
That looks like the north east end of the lake. Kings point area? There are bass and cats out there for sure. One of my fav baits is a rapala f5 floater on UL gear. ...more Fish it near structure. Good luck.
    12. Tim Tim 0
      Top water
    13. jonholbrook 0
You should try for some catfish check @swampmafia out
    14. cswennes 0
Definitely throw a Spinnerbait at them.. Looks like dirty water so chartreuse would probably work well.. Good luck!
    15. beastyfisherman30 0
Going out from there is the lake and the lake is huge!!!!
    16. Cat_Assassin 0
Looks like it may have some in there. How large is it overall? I would throw a spinner bait or a purple worm.
