I am just getting into fishing and there is this spot next to my house. Would there be bass there, and what type of lure should I use? I know I have to fish to find out, but what do you guys think?

      I just bought the hobie pro 12. It is plenty large enough. I can't imagine the 14' one. The 12' is large and stable. Can even bow fish from it.

      @SwampMafia bro I've been looking at the Hobie pro angler 14 and I think that's perfect. I guess I have to start saving up money lol

      Academy in humble has a good selection of kayaks. Most have a weight rating listed on the sign. Don't forget to add your gear (rods, tackle, cooler, net, anchor) ...more in to the weight limit.

      Most of the lake shoreline is private property, so bank fishing is some what limited. Look into getting a kayak. It will expand your fishing 1000X

      This is in the subdivision Lakeshore in atascocita. I catch cats all the time and wanted to see if bass would be in here. Or do you know of any ponds or any area ...more on the lake that are good for bass?

      If you can get out there at or just before sunrise try top water or a buzz bait. The lake also holds some large cats. @jonholbrook thanks for the heads up on ...more new anglers on the lake.

      That looks like the north east end of the lake. Kings point area? There are bass and cats out there for sure. One of my fav baits is a rapala f5 floater on UL gear. ...more Fish it near structure. Good luck.

      Definitely throw a Spinnerbait at them.. Looks like dirty water so chartreuse would probably work well.. Good luck!

      Going out from there is the lake and the lake is huge!!!!

      Looks like it may have some in there. How large is it overall? I would throw a spinner bait or a purple worm.
