1. Details: Golden Rainbow Trout

4 lb fluorocarbon Catalina rigged - with 3ft leader. Caught two around the 2-3lb range. Slow bite off the shore near the dam. Brought the fish home to eat. The ...more flesh is dark orange so I wonder if it is a holdover trout. Can anyone tell me how to tell the difference?

I think red/orange flesh depends on the diet.
  2. Details: Black Rockfish

Catch a few 1 lb rockfish over thanksgiving weekend. Used about 10 oz weight to keep bait straight and at the bottom of the ocean. Because the rockfish are so ...more deep you can barely feel them fight. Never the less great tasting fish!

  3. Details: Brook Trout

Cold morning and night around high 20s and low 30s so there are little action in the surface until the temperature rises in the day and insects become more active ...more before switching to flies. In the early morning I used kastmaster with trout pattern to catch these high Sierra trouts. Very fun but my hands were freezing! Part of the experience when you go backpacking in the back country.

  4. Details: Bonita

Trying to catch yellowtail but no luck. Instead caught these Bonito (not sure why app spells it as Bonita). I wonder if it's same fish with two different names, ...more anyone knows?

Different parts of the u.s. Have different names for them and the Bonita is different then ur bonito
  5. Details: Golden Rainbow Trout

Bubble fly on a 4lb test. Using mosquito flies. Caught around 5 rainbow trout per hour each around the 12-14 inch range. The hike to the Gem lake from rush creek ...more trailhead was brutal with a 2000 elevation climb from 7000 to 9000. But the fishing at the end was totally worth it!

  6. Details: Bluegill Sunfish

Used redworms with bobbers 2 ft from the bottom. Caught 4 around noon. Got them from the marina.

  7. Details: California Yellowtail

Between long beach and Catalina. Around 20 miles out fly fishing with live bait, 4/0 hook, and 3/8 and 1/2 oz egg sinker. Man the yellowtail fight hard! Landed ...more it after a good 20 min fight. The fish is around 20 - 30lb range. I'm not sure I just know I could barely hold it up.
