      Nice fish
    2. Surf_Monkey 0
@Esgar272 Hooked in the mouth. Think it was a reaction strike more than anything. They are plankton eaters, that what surprised me too .
    3. Esgar Montalvo 0
Was the Tilapia foul hooked? I thought they only feed on plankton...@Surf_Monkey

    1. Surf_Monkey 0
@Esgar272 I know, right. I always joke w/son that I have to blindfold him before taking him to my spots so he won't know how to get there.
    2. Esgar Montalvo 0
Getting out fished by your kids could only mean that you did a great job teaching them how to fish @Surf_Monkey don't teach them all your secrets now...

    7. Surf_Monkey 0
When it's not so hot, you can get away with a crankbait, slow retrieve. My favorite it the H2O CRUL in the Dismind Dust pattern.
    8. Surf_Monkey 0
So, bigger the bait and slower the bait, the more you'd get a bigger one.
    9. Surf_Monkey 0
@brandenhill99 Right now, I use plastics. My "Go To" plastic is the Zoom Brush Hog in watermelon color. I think, since it's hot, the bass don't ...more wanna do a lot of work to get food.

    1. miguel moreno 0
well everytime I catch a fish like that I try my best to no hurt it but then again if it's small it's kinda hard not to hurt it cuz they got a small mouth ...more and all but oh well it happens @thedevman1
    2. thedevman1 0
@slatwater that case to harvest it. It happens though but I try as hard as I can to not hurt em. 😕
    3. thedevman1 0
@slatwater either swallow the bait (that happens when you don't set the hook quick enough) or it gets stuck in the tongue where there's an artery. I HATE ...more it when a fish dies but then again it's ok in
    4. thedevman1 0
@slatwater well when I would catch a salmon I'd either cut the artery at the tail to bleed it or puncture the artery at the gill. Usually when we accidentally ...more kill a smaller bass it's when they
    5. miguel moreno 0
it has happened to me wit smaller fish the gills get hurt or come off and they die and they bleed alot but I guess it's diffrent on every fish @thedevman1
    6. thedevman1 0
Killed a couple smaller fish in my time. It happens but makes you want to be a little more careful.
    7. thedevman1 0
Way to weight your fish without hurting them is under their chin away from the gills. @slatwater and NO; pulling 1 Gill won't make the fish bleed out. But still ...more I don't think that fish made it. I've
    8. thedevman1 0
I'm not sure how you're weighing your fish and I'm not trying to be a jerk but I let a guy borrow my scale recently and h was trying to POP a hole in ...more her lip to weigh her. I stopped him but the proper
    9. miguel moreno 0
don't think so bro cuz it would of been bleeding but if she swam off good she will be ok
    10. Surf_Monkey 0
I remember taking the hook out of the corner of her mouth and she was barely hooked. I don't remember getting close to her gills... Aww dang maybe when I checked ...more her weight?
    11. miguel moreno 0
did u catch it like that or did u hook her around the gills? and it snapped off cuz if u caught her like that than nvm I guess she's doing great lol
    12. Surf_Monkey 0
@thedevman1 Water color was chocolate from all the water and mud getting stirred together.
    13. Surf_Monkey 0
@slatwater Awww dang... I sure hope she makes it. She fought good and hope I can catch her again.
    14. thedevman1 0
What was the water color? I got a bag of those the other day but the water and light wasn't right for them.
    15. miguel moreno 0
most of the time when the gills come out like that they die but hey that's fishing it happens bro just hope she made it like u said
    16. Surf_Monkey 0
@slatwater Just now noticed. She swam away strong after I released her. I sure hope she did? She fought good!
    17. miguel moreno 0
did the fish make it bro? it looks like the gill is out just wondering @Surf_Monkey
    18. fishinggal 0
Me too, but then changed my mind because it was getting late.
    19. Surf_Monkey 0
@fishinggal It was last minute. Hadn't fished this whole week and just wanted to wet the line.
    20. fishinggal 0
