1. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Kurth lake recommendations

Going to kurth lake tomorrow morning. The water is very clear, with hydrylla looking stuff reaching up from the bottom. There is tall grass along the edges of the ...more lake as well. What are your lure suggestions? Looking for mostly bass, but a gar or catfish would be nice also. Thanks.

All I know is that it is supposed to be full of alligators!! I would throw a chug bug early around the grill.
    3. Jacob Breaux 0

  2. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Top water frog

Caught this 4-5 lber this morning. Castes up on the bank and slowly hopped it into the water to make it look alive. As soon as it hit the water, a school of 5 4-8 ...more lb bass followed and this one hit. Also saw a 9-10 lber swim around it. First frog fish.

  3. Smacked!! This carp didn't want to take pictures. Hooked 5 landed 4, all 6-10 lbs. had fun pulling them all out of the pilings before I got tangled up. 7' ...more ugly stik, 80 lb braid size 2 bass/j hook, 1/8 oz split shot 6/10inches up. At the end, the carp were going up to the surface to eat the chips, so I just held out my rod and watched them eat it at the top.

    Grass Carp with a bread

    1. atxfish19 0

  5. Details: Largemouth Bass with a wacky rig: spinach colored 4 inch senko, size 4 gamagatzu hook, 10 lb mono, chronarch, vertias

Caught this beast early this morning. Slow retrieve with twitches. Trying to keep it off the bottom. Blind casted around a tree from the bank into a group of logs. ...more Let her have it for about 4 seconds before the hook set. I'll admit I was holding her out a bit in the pic but she wasn't much smaller than that. What do y'all think she weighed? I had no scale today.

    1. atxfish19 0
      Probably close to 6
    2. atxfish19 0
Alright cool thanks guys. That's the range I was thinking. @Vinnyman42 @Jimmy_Lynch
    3. Jimmy_Lynch 0
Maybe 5 but it's really hard to tell
    4. Jimmy_Lynch 0
@Vinnyman42 yes I know that but with the angle of the picture you can't get a good judgement of size of hand to fish. Regardless it's a nice fish @atxfish19 ...more I'd say 6+
    5. Mike Ammenwerth 0
@Jimmy_Lynch I always use the size of the hand holding the fish for reference because that's the only part of the anglers body that is a constant relative to ...more the fish. Nice fish @atxfish19
    6. atxfish19 0
      5'8 @Jimmy_Lynch
    7. Jimmy_Lynch 0
Really have no reference point to go by. How tall are you? That would help

Caught this 6 lb 9oz beast today at rayburn. Had to jump in after him when he got in the weeds. Worth it though. Very slow retrieval with slight twitches worked ...more today. Caught early this morning.

  7. Details: Largemouth Bass with a mr wiffelure blue 8 inch curly tail, vertias 7 ft md hvy, chronarch

  8. Details: Largemouth Bass with a baby bass 4 inch swimbait, vertias 7 ft med heavy, chronarch

One of the better bass caught today at the lake. It's 75 outside, so the bass aren't super aggressive. I was casting parallel to the bank, if no bite, casting ...more 5 ft to the right, no bite, and so on until I hooked up. Caught 7 total today, and lost a good 6 pounder. Most we're caught near or in structure.

  9. Details: White Crappie with a river2sea 2 in crankbait "blue mackeral"

Trolling the crank bait about 40 feet behind the yak pretty fast. Caught this guy in 10 FOW. First crappie- 11 in. Wait for the bump and set the hook. Chronarch ...more with vendetta and 10 pound mono. This was the right hand side of the lake at the split. Before the bridge.
