1. Haven't posted in a while but I finally manned up and bought some real shark gear. Picked up an international 130 and spooled 1800 yards of 200lb mono it. Ready ...more to haul in something big. Any recommendation on rods around $500?

Well it's better to be over powered then under powered!
    2. j_reyes 0
Barret for sure. If not look at the 80-130 10' gatorglass blank and have some one build it
    3. Jacob Breaux 0
There's a reel for ya!! Barret rods have a pretty good rep for high quality custom big game rods, especially in lbsf. Their stuff on their website looks sick. ...more Might check them out

@King_Fisher I'd say it's overkill but I got tired of not having heavy enough. I don't foresee that happening again 😉

@BradleyM what your saying makes complete sense, thats the best method i have ever tried is judging the bottom by the waves, i was just wondering if there was another ...more way, thanks man
    6. Bradley Combs 0
@seaturtles years and know the general distances. But the waves are how I judge it so after the second set of bigger swells I drop. Hope that was at least a little ...more clear haha.
    7. Bradley Combs 0
@seaturtles it's hard to give an exact description, it mostly goes by feel of the wave action the waves typically swell over the bars and flatten in the troughs. ...more I also have swam at the beach for...
    8. Sean Wilms 0
hey nice shark, i was wondering how you know where the second trough is, right now i just cast as far as I can and hope for the best but i was hoping there is a ...more better way to do it
    9. Bradley Combs 0
