  3. Details: Red (redfish) Drum with a 3"gulp on 1/8oz jighead

Caught several fat reds today. All but one made the slot with most of them ranging from 29-31". Bouncing gulps on the bottom proved to be the ticket.

No world record but that's a nice fish. I use 30lb braid for gg 60lbs+ no leaders. Works just fine @lovemore just take your time with them. Fish aren't meant ...more to be horsed in. Where's the fun in that?
    8. jacob jacob 0

The reason I switched to the lasso is cause it stays stiff and you can push the loop down into the water without it floating and loosing the loop form. Works wonders. ...more The scales can't cut it either
    4. TeamCutEmDeep 0
@texasredhunter ya I'm gonna have to put one in there just in case it happens again
    5. paul paul 0
Btw @TeamCutEmDeep we use a plain old lasso to pull them up. I just keep it in the boat and have one in the toolbox on my truck =] best thing I've used so far!
    6. paul paul 0
Only ignorant fools kill fish for no reason. It's one thing if you eat them and another to just let them rot.
    7. paul paul 0
Please do not kill the gg's they aren't spread out like they used to be 20 years ago. I've done more research papers on them than I can count. Unless ...more it's dinner please release @JohnnyDeadNuts
    8. Surf_Monkey 0
Oh no, no... Sorry, I was talking about the sore/cut that's on the middle of his body... He looked like he was stuck in a net, but was able to escape but got ...more cut on the process.
    9. TeamCutEmDeep 0
@Surf_Monkey No... he wouldn't fit in a net so the only way we could get him the boat was to loop some twine around him and pull him in
    10. Surf_Monkey 0
Looks like he barely got outta gill net?
    11. Josh Parker 0
      Wow, that's impressive!

BEAST MODE!!! What type of bait/lure?
    15. Johnny DeadNuts 0
In wisconsin they are considered rough fish and people are encouraged not to release. Also gar is damn good eating. Tastes like shrimp. They are a blast to bowfish.
    16. Jacob Breaux 0
Nice! Look at the tail on that big boy! Can't even imagine the fight it must have put up on light tackle
