1. Details: Channel Catfish with a Chartreuse Spinner 3/8oz. Double Gold hammered Colos.

Forever catching Cats on Bass lures. It's my secret 'talent', I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    1. Cameron Cameron 0
@drew_s_9 ah that's true I had forgotten about that. It's been a minute since I've brushed up on catfish id.
    2. Sean Wilms 0
      @drew_s_9 is exactly right, it's a channel
    3. drew_s_9 0
Haha maybe, but the key is the tail, when its forked like that it's a channel, when it's kind of like a paddle, it's a bullhead. :)
    4. Cameron Cameron 0
@drew_s_9 huh, he had a weird head different from other channels I've caught. Hatchery fish though so maybe he's special.
    5. drew_s_9 0
It's actually a channel catfish but cool pattern.

What they say about slow fishing days...

    1. crookcody19 0
Yeah this shad run is super late this year
    2. Cameron Cameron 0
@King_Fisher @crookcody19 still waiting. No signs of life yesterday. Only saw one Shad get caught in about 4 hours.
    3. King_Fisher 0
Are the striper still not eating?
    4. crookcody19 0
Was thinking about going there today but heard from a lot of people that there really wasn't anything being caught.

  3. Details: Largemouth Bass with a 1/2oz honey and creme Willow/colo spinnerbait

Took the spinning gear to a high pressure and low cover urban water body today to get it dialed in and started 2015 with a real treat. Pulled like a tank and lived ...more through a broken jaw to heal it and grow fat, aggressive, and hungry. Good girl, now go get bigger. 17"+\-

    1. crookcody19 0
      Nice!!

Another good mail day as we wait for the Shad to bring the Striper upstream. Can't wait for some Fall Line Tuna.

      Tuesday not thursday
    2. crookcody19 0
Going this Thursday instead cause wednesday I called down to a local bait shop and they said the run hadn't started.
    3. Cameron Cameron 0
      @crookcody19 how'd it go?
    4. crookcody19 0
Yeah cause I finally got a day off of work so I'm going fish tomorrow on the lower chickahominy and wanted to see if there was even a chance of something.
    5. Cameron Cameron 0
@crookcody19 probably. Haven't been near the water in a couple of weeks but the water is getting lower, clearer, & warmer everyday so hopefully in the next ...more week or so the bite will pick up.
    6. crookcody19 0
You know if any shad are making there way up the rivers yet???
    7. Sean Wilms 0
will do thanks for the tip
    8. King_Fisher 0
I bet I've been wanting to try it in a fly rod as well!
    9. Cameron Cameron 0
@King_Fisher you should! It's a blast on light gear.
    10. Cameron Cameron 0
@seaturtles just know the difference in species well enough before you ice anything. Only Hickory are legal this year. @crookcody19 it's crazy how well those ...more two events synchronize!
    11. King_Fisher 0
I've never done that but have been meaning too!
    12. Sean Wilms 0
ah ok, im looking forward to having some bait to catch for some catfish and gar
    13. crookcody19 0
Ahaha I go by the same thing! Dogwoods mean shad
    14. Cameron Cameron 0
@seaturtles late March or so. Depends on how many warm days and how much rain we get. Up here they say when the Dogwoods are in bloom.
    15. Sean Wilms 0
about when do the shad usually show up?

  5. Details: Hybrid Striped Bass with a Cheap Spinnerbaits and pricey swimbaits.

Pre-spawn river bass and Shad chasing schoolie striper are comin' my way soon and, fingers crossed, these guys here will be Spring '15's greatest hits.

    1. justin123 0
Where'd you get those spinners on the bottom?
    2. crookcody19 0
Okay thanks man! Not to many good carp places in hanover Ahah
    3. Cameron Cameron 0
@crookcody19 I'm also an advocate of removing them to use for blue bait and garden fertilizer. They muck up and ruin lot of good fishing water around here.
    4. Cameron Cameron 0
@crookcody19 between the east tip of Belle Isle and the VEPCO dam in the Southside channel where it flattens out (I come in by the climbing wall) and in the canal ...more under the Powhite Bridge.
    5. crookcody19 0
You know any good carp fishing spots near richmond area??
    6. Cameron Cameron 0
@muskiemilitia1 can't wait to try it. There aren't Musky this far downstream from me but there is a great flathead fishery here and I want to try big swimbaits ...more on those fatties.
    7. Clay Clay 0
I've had a lot of success with that 8" eel in the same color for Muskie....great bait, especially for the price
    8. Jose_Can_senko 0
Thanks for the info I'll have to grab one to try out...
    9. Cameron Cameron 0
@Jose_Can_senko Savage Gear's 8" eel. The thing looks like a live eel in the water. It's pretty awesome!
    10. Jose_Can_senko 0
      That eel is sick
    11. crookcody19 0
I've got all my gear ready for them!

  6. This is the forth guide on my 7' Abu Garcia Veritas. Is there a solid way to repair this or did I just kill my best rig?

    1. Cameron Cameron 0
@TennesseeTroutboy negative. The nylon guide is gone and that metal ring with destroy my mainline in a heartbeat. Especially if I get a fish on.
    2. TennesseeTroutboy 0
Bend the eye back that's what I do all the time
    3. MusicCityBass 0
Go to your local baitshop. Mine repairs rods
    4. dalton craig 0
Salvage some eyes off older rods, or buy a few eyes for like $5
    5. TexasFisher07 0
      Alrighty sorry bud
    6. Mason Cizek 0
You can buy eye kits to replace them at many outdoor stores
    7. Cameron Cameron 0
@TexasFisher07 no such luck. Academy hasn't made it to central VA yet. Bought this from a Ma&Pa that probably doesn't have the big box return policy, ...more guess I'll check what they can do though.
    8. TexasFisher07 0
If you bought it from academy i would just take it back and ask for a new one. Broke my tip off and they gave me a new one with no reciept.
