  4. Details: Largemouth Bass with a black and blue finnesse jig

First bass off of my new combo: Abu Garcia Revo STX in 7.1:1 gear ratio paired with a fenwick silverhawk 7' medium heavy rod. Going to use this combo mostly ...more for jigs and worms.

    1. Austin Buley 0
I haven't had to use leaders but mono works fine too just wondering
    2. anusbutthole7269 0
No I decided to just go straight flouro so I dont have to go through the trouble of tying on leaders but I might change eventually @abuley34
    3. Austin Buley 0
      You got braid on there?

  5. Details: Largemouth Bass with a 1/4 ounce black and blue finnesse jig

Cold and windy day. Twitching my jig slowly and utilizing the jigs rattle. Only bass that I caught today.

    1. Austin Buley 0
Lucky I went on Thursday and there wasn't crap on that structure lol they came back for you apparently
    2. anusbutthole7269 0
It might have been a little murkier but I fished in the cove that you told me about. I think your right about how they are holding to the concrete structure @abuley34
    3. Austin Buley 0
Alright with the rain I was thinkin it may get murky so thanks
    4. anusbutthole7269 0
It was the same as it usually is. @abuley34
    5. Austin Buley 0
      Was it murky out there?

Same bass as last blert. If you look closely you can see the rat tail poking out of the throat.

    2. Sean Wilms 0
could you post the pic of the rat tail in his mouth, thats sounds really cool! nice hog btw
    3. 9G3B 0
      Hog!
    4. Austin Buley 0
I catch a ton out of there on wacky rigs and other softplastics, never gotten a bite on anything except a softplastic/jig though
    5. anusbutthole7269 0
Ya try it. This is the only bass that I have caught in this pond though @abuley34
    6. Austin Buley 0
      Everyone that drives @TXfisherman97
    7. Austin Buley 0
Haha the problem with u would be the fact that u drive a truck, and that attracts attention because most people that are allowed to fish live close enough to walk ...more to the ponds, so they check almost
    8. Austin Buley 0
Gees I think it's about the biggest one in that pond, my friend pulled a 3.4 out of there but nothing that size so it probably just eats everything... I may ...more throw a rat lure in the summer now too
    9. Will Engle 0
I fished a neighborhood pond here in Melissa last weekend. I eventually got kicked off because I didn't live there. I need some better fishing spots lol @abuley34
    10. anusbutthole7269 0
Yep thats right where I caught him. He must eat a ton because when a caught him I saw a rat tail in his throat! Got a picture of it too @abuley34
    11. Austin Buley 0
There's one that holds some ok bass and some monster cats, but the others really aren't good @TXfisherman97
    12. Will Engle 0
@abuley34 are there any good public ponds in McKinney?
    13. Austin Buley 0
Yessir I had popped my jig out of a tree and it landed right by the bank and I got slammed... Right at my feet actually
    14. parker quinn 0
      Where was this caught?
    15. anusbutthole7269 0
Thanks @abuley34 was he right by the bank?
    16. Austin Buley 0
@TXfisherman97 there's only a couple public ones and they aren't very good tbh, but it's hit or miss on the private ones... Sometimes they'll check ...more your id's, sometimes not
    17. Austin Buley 0
If that one was about 4 lbs I lost him exactly where u are standing on a jig because my line wrapped around my tip and I couldn't reel... Nice bass though
    18. Will Engle 0
Are the ponds at Stonebridge public?

Fishing for catfish and caught this HOG. The guy who stocks the pond told me and my friends that this bass weighs 10 lbs. My first ever double-digit bass!

    1. Zach Dodds 0
The old guy that lives next to the pond took my license plate number and said he was going to call the fishing warden. He called my dad instead but it sucks I can't ...more go there anymote @ChristianErickson

    12. ccbryant06 0

I think ive narrowed down my choses to one reel, but cant decide between the new or old model. Opinions, suggestions, or reviews?

    1. Conley Foeh 0
I haven't tried the new CI4 yet but the 200 E7 has never let me down. @zkid09 is right about the old style chronarchs, they're awesome.
    2. TxFishing13 0
@mckinneyangler26 Gotta say 200e7 again. Never used the new chronarch though.
    3. robby_scott 0
      Chronarch 200 e7
    4. Cody Palmer 0
      the mg50 is sweet too.
    5. anusbutthole7269 0
Any reson or you just love the reel? @aj_32
    6. Cody Palmer 0
Again, my opinion, but look one model older I think it is. Look up the chronarch ch100b. Most comfort in my opinion. Most durable was the original ones that came ...more in pearl gold and silver.

Looking for a reel for my birthday and have narrowed it down to these six. Any suggestions/reviews?

    1. Christian Holyoak 0
STX. I blew an anti-reverse on the S though...
    2. Christian Greico 0
Lews! Only reels I own. IMO best reels on the market.
    3. Mike Smith 0
I have 3 gen 3 revo stx and I love them!
    4. anusbutthole7269 0
      Ok thanks @atxfish19 @max1172 @fishin_man @austenM @ARangler @TxFishing13 @speckcatcher @JWelch @huntingandfishing @kjmc31 @jleavell and @zkid09
    5. Cody Palmer 0
It were my choice, I'd go chronarch or revo stx. The 160$ revo is what most pros use because it's their workhorse reel and super reliable. Not so much to ...more break somewhat
    6. Cody Palmer 0
The new chronarch isn't as good as the older in my opinion. Still awesome reels. The older chronarch and curado are my favorite reels. Out of those 6, you'll ...more be happy with any of them honestly but if
    7. Mark Leavell 0
I have a curado, you can't beat it, but I will be adding to my collection with a chronarch.
    8. kjmc31 0
If you can get ahold of an old school curado do that. If not get the white chronarch.
    9. huntingandfishing 0
I would go for the lews or sx and up on the abu.. @mckinneyangler26
    10. JWelch 0
Chronarch, hands down. I've heard a lot of great things about Lew's but for versatility in salt and freshwater Shimano can't be beat.
    11. Conley Foeh 0
      Chronarch 200 E7
    12. TxFishing13 0
      @mckinneyangler26 Chronarch e7!
    13. Blake Bennett 0
      I would get the lews
    14. austenM 0
      Get the new chronarch
    15. jason felter 0
I sure love the curado, never tried the chronarch but it's just basically a step up from the curado. I think I would go with the chronarch
    16. max1172 0
      Chromarch best reel ever
    17. atxfish19 0
Also, with the revo stx, it's a lot less smoothe than it should be for the price. I used my old one for a few days before returning it.
    18. atxfish19 0
Chronarch. I use mine for fresh and saltwater and it handles awesome. Caught bass, reds, and trout on it.
