1. Details: Largemouth Bass

Found some bigger fish today punching matted hydrilla. Some of the mats looked brown on the top but had good green grass underneath. Combine that with a bunch of ...more perch and baby bass in the area, and I knew it was only a matter of time before I connected. Perfect weather and 20 fish made for a fun day for sure.

  2. Details: Ladyfish

Caught my first Lady on the fly! Awesome fight, she went airborne multiple times. Got me excited to go chase some tarpon in a few months. Just letting the fly sit ...more in the light and she hammered it

Honestly when they are feeding you can throw just about anything at em, my favorite pattern to throw is a clouser with a lot of flash
    2. Mike Smith 0
@Cowboy713 if I knew how to target then I would! But they are definitely a welcome surprise
    3. Chris Skinner 0

  3. Details: Red (redfish) Drum

Finally caught my first keeper red on a fly! Put up one heck of a fight in about a foot of water. Tide was moving out and there were mullet everywhere. Caught him ...more blind casting an area where I was seeing wakes and other signs of game fish. The fly was one I tied myself (previous blert) and he inhaled it all the way to his crushers. Great experience and I'm officially hooked!

Went exploring with the fly rod and the waders Friday, and was able to find some very cool areas! This red fought like crazy, I can't imagine what a big one ...more will fight like on the fly! I'm ready to continue exploring and chasing these guys on the fly. Weather was cloudy most of the day, bait was everywhere.

    1. AllWaterLife 0
Decent @skip_and_pitch. Caught one nice trout myself and buddy caught one rat red. Lots of bait, the predators were just bein shy.
    2. Mike Smith 0
@AllWaterLife Did you do any good?

Punching in the rain with my Dobyns punch rod. I was punching the islands and got on a steady bite, catching around 10. Every bite hit within the first 2 pumps of ...more the rod, so making a lot of pitches was the key. Video to come when I'm back in the U.S.!

    1. Mike Smith 0
@TexasAngler89 I've never had an issue. I think the safest time to go is during the weekend when the ramp is fairly busy
    2. Glen Barton 0
I had my truck broken into a while back but apparently they caught a couple of guys that they think were breaking into vehicles. I've been back several times ...more without issues. @TexasAngler89

Fished Florida for the first time this past week and loved it. Found bass on beds in 1-3 FOW, only males on the beds but the females were moving up and we were catching ...more them fishing the holes in Kissimmee grass beds. Fishing that kind of cover was very difficult, and I lost some real heartbreakers. Learned a lot though and I can't wait to use that info in Texas!
