1. This was the biggest bass I caught on our evening trip to the canal today. We switched or baits from crankbaits to worms and diggers.

  2. This was the biggest bass I got today. He absolutely slammed the crankbait. Fight started on the top of the pipe and I moved to the bank to land it.

  4. Details: White Grunt

Here's the most common species we caught on Saturday while down in the keys for the day. As you. An see I was in the water while my bro took a pic of the fish ...more and me. We would stang about 7-8ft off the shoreline casting our baits about 20-25ft away and let the bait touch the bottom before giving it small jumps and most of the time a grunt or pinfish would be on the other end. A good day

  5. This was the fish that if you didn't check your bait every 30 seconds they were going to take it. I caught several of these as so did my brother and they were ...more just a hassle to deal with. Conditions were calm on the water, with seas only 3-4ft , very hot and sunny conditions. Temp between 85-86 during our time of fishing. Maybe even hotter. Keeping the bait on the bottom was the key for us

  6. Here's one of the fish I caught yesterday while fishing off the drift boat. I believe this to be a strawberry grouper but couldn't find the label for it. ...more Letting the squid hit the bottom and making sure you constantly check you bait for any small fish to take it was the key for me and my brother. While others were catching nothing, we were. And all the fish we caught were released.

    3. Swamp Mafia 0
Looks like a Red Hind, aka strawberry grouper, commonly miss ID'd as speckled hind, or rock hind. Cool catch.

  7. Details: Blue Fish with a 1/8ounce white buck tail with a white grub

I got into a great school of bunkers today. I couldn't find the label bunker so I tagged it as a bluefish. I was targeting bluefish but there was such a large ...more school of bunker than it was even hard to cast through it. I used some as bait and still no hook up. I was fishing the Jones Beach Inlet, the exact spot was Point Lookout Beach. Temp 63, little to no wind and slight rain.

I feel like I live in that awkward intermediate area where all the fish north of me are a lot bigger and all the fish south of me are huge

  8. Details: Blue Fish with a 1/8ounce buck tail with a white grub trailer

Here's the big blue I got today. A great fight on some pretty light tackle. This guy hit only after a few seconds of my buck tail hitting the water. My casts ...more were directly off the end of the jetty about 25-30ft away. The birds were making several dives in the water indicating bait was in the area. The exact spot was the Point Lookout Jetty. Also all my fish were released.Temp 82, and very sunny.

  9. Details: Blue Fish with a 1/8ounce buck tail with a white grub trailer

Did some fishing at Point Lookout Jetty today and found a nice school of blues. In totally I hooked up with 3 and brought in two. This was the first one and the ...more smaller one. I would cast directly off the end of the jetty about 25-30ft away and let it drop for about 15-20secs before giving it hard jerks. Landing these fish on this rocky jetty was not easy. Temp was 73 and very sunny.
