1. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Spawning bass

I saw a giant bass today at the river and didn't have my rod, it looked like it was in spawn and it was right off the edge of a rock, anyways I don't normally ...more try for spawning bass but was wondering If yall had any tips/ tricks and tackle that might help me catch it

    1. dillon juarez 0
I feel dumb it never even crossed my mind to look on YouTube thanks for the advice and I'll be sure to let you know how it goes @lukerevere7
    2. lukerevere7 0
If you really want to learn some. Go on YouTube and just search how to fish the bass spawn or how to bass fish and you can learn a lot. That's how I learned ...more most of what I know lol but good luck
    3. dillon juarez 0
Oh ok thanks I don't know much about bass and that's one of the biggest I've seen usually there are so many people around that the little ones bite but ...more these where away from every body @lukerevere7
    4. lukerevere7 0
No way they'll be spawned out in a week. Some might still be pairing up in week. You'll be good even if that one finds a pair and spawns there will be plenty ...more more
    5. dillon juarez 0
Thanks I am thinking about going next week but I don't want them to be spawned out by the time I get to try lol @lukerevere7
    6. lukerevere7 0
And try a Senko bait first. If they haven't dropped eggs yet then a Senko will out fish the lizard
    7. lukerevere7 0
      Snag itπŸ‘
    8. lukerevere7 0
It might've just been a male finding a spot for his bed. But even if it wasn't they should pair up soon and it will be on. Check that spot next time you're ...more out and if he/she is still there then try to
    9. dillon juarez 0
Thanks I'm still not too sure if it was spawning because there was only the one I was originally thinking to free line a live perch near it but I'll try ...more the lizard trick @lukerevere7
    10. lukerevere7 0
Real slow towards the bed. Maybe let it sit a little on the bed to give them so time to eat it. But it might take a while to get them to bite. Just gotta keep at ...more it
    11. lukerevere7 0
Won't have any of that. Also a Big Bite Baits war hog is amazing for the spawn. Resembles a bluegill trying to eat their eggs but pretty much anything will catch ...more them. Just be persistent and work it
    12. lukerevere7 0
When they start laying eggs get some soon lizards. Color doesn't really matter too much but clear water=natural colors dirty water= bright colors. Looks like ...more a lizard trying to eat their eggs. They

  2. Details: Bluegill Sunfish with a Diawa cross fire ul with 4lb fluorocarbon and a small minnow jig

This is the biggest bluegill of the day same conditions as previous blerts I pitched the jig in there bed and this big one took off with it great fight even had ...more some jumps

    1. TheDirtyPelican 0
I caught a few like that on the fly. Little sponge or foam spiders. They can't stand em. @flybob
    2. dillon juarez 0
I thought it was a pretty decent bass until I saw it jump @TheDirtyPelican
    3. TheDirtyPelican 0
      A slab

  3. Details: Largemouth Bass with a 5'6" 2wt bass pro classic ss fly rod with bass pro 3/4 intruder reel with 2wt Classic ss double taper line 7.5ft mono leader 7x tippet ...more and @atxflyfishing s mono shrimp

This is my new pb bass on the fly and first bass on my 2wt the same conditions as the last blert the shrimp was slightly too big for the blugill and greenies to ...more take so the bass would always take the fly on the drop @atxflyfishing fly worked great for bass

    1. Connor25 0
Thanks man this will be a big help.
    2. dillon juarez 0
      @Connor25 ^^^
    3. dillon juarez 0
But wooly buggers, clouser minnows, nymphs, egg patterns that look like corn or food pellets would be my go to flys its best to ask your local fly shop to see what ...more they like in your area for color wise
    4. dillon juarez 0
And with my 8wt which is for bigger bass I use poppers and larger streamers
    5. dillon juarez 0
Well with my 2-5wts I use mostly shineybead headed nymphs, wooly buggers in different colors but mostly black and white, and some top water flys like mayfly drys ...more or poppers
    6. Connor25 0
What kinds of flys do you use for bass fishing and pan fishing?
    7. King_Fisher 0
      I might try that.
    8. dillon juarez 0
Sounds like the 5'6" would be good if they don't spook easily I like the 5'6 because it bends a lot more then a 9ft rod @King_Fisher
    9. King_Fisher 0
Cool thanks man I want it for these tiny east coast brookie streams.
    10. dillon juarez 0
also if you want the reel id suggest getting the combo its a lot cheaper then buying them separate @King_Fisher
    11. dillon juarez 0
Cast the with the leader better
    12. dillon juarez 0
Depends where you fish I myself just like the 5'6" the only probablem is a 7.5ft leader is kind of to long for the rod so if you have easliy spooked fish ...more it would be hard @King_Fisher the 6'6 could
    13. King_Fisher 0
I was looking in to getting that rod either in 5'6 or 6'6 what do you think about it?

  4. Details: Bluegill Sunfish with a 5'6" 2wt bass pro classic ss fly rod with bass pro 3/4 intruder reel with 2wt Classic ss double taper line 7.5ft mono leader 7x ...more tippet and a size 14 egg fly

My first fish on the 2wt it was a great fight the fish where in the shade by a tree in 3 FOW with a sand and gravel bottom no wind no overcast the trick was little ...more to no movement of the fly and let it free drift to the bottom

    1. Connor25 0
What do you uses for bass?

  5. Details: Golden Rainbow Trout

I got this 5'6" 2wt for Christmas i can't wait to break it in im going to use 3wt line until I can find some 2wt line

    1. King_Fisher 0
Yeah I bought some 3 wt. line for my dad for Christmas.
    2. dillon juarez 0
      Thanks @wyldechylde77
    3. Chuck LaBruna 0
      Very cool bud!
    4. dillon juarez 0
Do you know if they sale the line by its self? @King_Fisher
    5. King_Fisher 0
Cabelas prestige is on sale and it's great line I don't know if it comes in 2wt though.
    6. King_Fisher 0
      For sure!
    7. Chris Skinner 0
      Should be just fine
    8. dillon juarez 0
Do you think a 7.5ft floro leader would be good for nymphing @Cowboy713
    9. Chris Skinner 0
      Sounds about right lol
    10. dillon juarez 0
      lol I think 7x is about 2 or 3 lbs @Cowboy713
    11. Chris Skinner 0
Sounds good! (I don't usually use the X system for my tippets lol, I just buy line weights I'm familiar with)
    12. dillon juarez 0
Ok thanks I'll have to get another spool for my reel or reel I was thinking about using 6 or 7x tippet @Cowboy713
    13. Chris Skinner 0
Bass pro, and Cabelas both have 2wt line readily available, I'd probably use 10lb butt section on my leader with 6lb end section, with 4 or 2lb tippet
    14. dillon juarez 0
I love em for that and it makes all fish look giant @King_Fisher
    15. King_Fisher 0
Man those short rods are awesome for small brushy streams!
    16. dillon juarez 0
      Thanks @SethSchoedl

I caught my pb rainbow it was 21 inches and was an awesome fight on my 3wt head shaking and 5 jumps the fish where hungry and staying near the bottom or near the ...more surface clear water fish where pretty much eating anything mossy bottom no wind and calm water I used an unweighted fly for slow sinking for the fish near the surface

    1. dillon juarez 0
Thanks man I figures you wanted to see it @Cale

    2. dillon juarez 0
Nice I've never even fly fished saltwater sounds like fun @fishonflyco
    3. fishonflyco 0
Yah I'm bringing my 8 for reds snook baby tarpon permit and trout I never fly fished in saltwater so I'm really excited
    4. dillon juarez 0
Yeah it didn't bend as much as a 3wt and the fly was pretty big I wouldn't fish anything under a 5wt there @fishonflyco
    5. fishonflyco 0
That's what I was thinking because his fly rod Is bending but a 3 wt I don't know about that
    6. dillon juarez 0
Your welcome but I'm still not convinced that is a 3wt it looks almost like a 5wt @fishonflyco
    7. fishonflyco 0
Thanks @flybob and this was a really cool video
    8. dillon juarez 0
@fishonflyco in this video they where using a whitefly it may help

  8. This is a weird but cool fly I tied not sure what to call it but it looks like a bass worm it's made with 210 flat waxed thread back hook is a size 2 with marabou ...more with rubber legs and some flash tied to 30lb mono wrapped with chenille then tied to a 1/0 jig hook with marabou and rubber legs and a tungsten bead head

    1. dillon juarez 0
Haha I forgot about that @Buck_Fly
    2. Buck_Fly 0
I know haha it doesn't look heavy! If it was heavier it might even cast better. With a big fly that catches in the wind and doesn't have much weight it hard ...more to castπŸ˜‚
    3. country_girl 0
      Welcome
    4. dillon juarez 0
      Thanks @country_girl
    5. country_girl 0

    7. Buck_Fly 0
Hahah let me now how it casts!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜
    8. dillon juarez 0
Yeah that's what I plan on throwing it with and maybe some full sink line @ARKfishing33
    9. Jackson OShea 0
You would need an 8 weight to throw it
    10. dillon juarez 0
      Thanks @az_fisher1
    11. Colby Teall 0
      That's pretty cool
    12. brcats 0

Last fish in New Mexico for awhile (sorry for the blurry pic) it was a 14 incher but it was fat for its size the fish where hungry so I would make the nymph plop ...more when I presented it so they fish would come right up to it this is the only one I could fool lol but it put up a really good fight for it's size no wind no overcast just getting dark smooth water tons of moss and weeds fish staying near

    1. dillon juarez 0
