  4. Hey... So recently I just got in to fishing!!!! Found out fishing is an awesome hobby and I'm enjoying it!!! Unfortunately, I just moved from FL and I'm ...more here in Central Jersey... I'm used to saltwater fishing... But now I'm never near a beach! What is the best bait I should use for ponds, lakes, and/or rivers... And what kind of fish would I catch?! P.s I'm near the raritan bay...

    1. Oliver Ancans 0
Hey I am currently in central jersey as well. I am doing pretty well for fishing here. If you need help or advise or want to fish hit me up
    2. gkendus 0
a great place to go to learn how to fish them. Anyway, hope this helps!
    3. gkendus 0
like bass. You'll probably catch largemouth bass, bluegill, sunnies and maybe some crappie. If you want artificial lures start out with in-expensive crank baits ...more and worm-type soft plastics. YouTube is

I'm from Delaware and the Jersey pond fishing is just like Delaware's. Since you're fairly new, I'd start out with the bobber idea. Use live worms ...more for smaller fish and live minnows for bigger fish
    5. MusicCityBass 0
...catch everything. Ive caught bluegill, carp, bass, catfish, striper, white bass, EVERYTHING. They are like $2.50 a piece
    6. MusicCityBass 0
The best lure that has ever been made is a white roostertail. Just about anywhere that sells fishing gear will sell them. Super simple, just cast and reel. They ...more do get hung up pretty easy but they....

What are you interested going for? Is there a certain specie you are after? If I'm sure I can lend some help.
    8. Joe Olsem 0
Live bait works the best. Worms are good for panfish (bluegill, crappie, etc). And I would use small bait fish for bigger predator fish like bass, walleye, catfish.
    9. MissMarj 0
@fish_fest lol thanks for the tip... I guess I need to buy a bobber than!!!! And @viet hahaha I wish.. Maine is pretty cool: I want lobsters!!! Hehe
    10. Viet Tran 0
Come to Maine, I'll show you around!
    11. Collin Collin 0
Another thing to do would be to find a local pond, put a worm about two feet below a bobber with a small splitshot weight, and then find out the food chain and move ...more up haha @MissMarj

If you have an Apple Device, for Catfish tips look up Catfishing Radio and Catfish Edge on Podcast. the host has been a Texas guide for years and knows some great ...more stuff.

      It did!!! Thanks buddy!
    14. MissMarj 0
It did!! Thanks so much buddy! But
    15. Will Engle 0
And crankbaits. Hopefully that helps some.
    16. Will Engle 0
In the winter I like to use jigs. In the spring and I like to use spinnerbaits, BuzzBaits, and lipless Crankbaits. In the summer I use Texas or Carolina rigged plastics. ...more And fall I use spinnerbaits
    17. Will Engle 0
My favorite freshwater species to target is the Largemouth Bass. The lure you use depends on the time of the year and the weather/temperature.
