    Bluegill with a wiggler

Too cold for the tip-ups that day (-15) everything was freezing up outside the shanty. I like to let them go anyways and maybe later on they will grow big enough ...more to eat :)

I started fishing naifc tournaments and it made me super competitive. So now every time I fish I'm constantly hole hopping and drilling out the lake. I can't ...more stay in one spot long enough to set up a shack although it would be nice sometimes. My endless pursuit for a 12" Gill and a 16" crappie keeps me going! I think it's awesome that you are out fishing in those temps, your a tough one! Keep up the good work!!
    3. Heather E 0
I just started last winter- never before and honestly with as much as I don't like the cold I was apprehensive but one time and I was "hooked" lol. ...more Chad no gloves or shanty is hardcore
    4. Chad M 0
I guess it's something you have to be brought up doing to appreciate. I fish about 6 days a week in the winter and never bring a shack or wear gloves. Hinders ...more my performance.. lol
    5. Capt Morris Campbell 0
Yep !! That's something I get out of the Yeti or put in
    6. Tod Fisher 0
i just can't relate. if I want to make ice I go to the freezer. πŸ˜€
    7. Heather E 0
Ice fishing makes winters bearable for me- never thought I'd say bring on the cold and let make some ice!
    8. Capt Morris Campbell 0
I had a trip last January at the Marsh. 26 degrees that morning carpet on the Nitro was frozen! Client caught two 10 lb Bass and an 11. Great trip but way too cold ...more for Florida.
    9. Chad M 0
It's funny, I'm stuck working in Texas and all I can think about is getting back to wi where it's cold so I can fish again! Lol
    10. Shawn Gearinger 0
It's too cold at 35 for me! You northern folks are crazy! 😱
    11. Capt Morris Campbell 0
      Everything chatters at that temp!!!!
    12. Tod Fisher 0
-15 makes my teeth chatter just thinking about it

About

Started fishing with my grandpa when I was 6- I'd catch night crawlers at night and go out on Lake Erie in the mornings. Got away from fishing ...more for a bit when I was busy with life kids and work. Started back at it after taking students out on a field trip fishing about 6 years ago. I was hooked again :). I prefer to kayak fish or walk the rivers and keep my gear in the kayak. I also found out last year I love ice fishing despite my dislike of the cold. Now winter doesn't sound too bad. I enjoy seeing all the fish people catch on here. Glad to have a place to share my fishing pics too. I am still learning a lot so please share tips or advice with me :)
