1. I caught 3 very similar Blue Cats mid to late summer. Not much exp worth these in fact I googled " black catfish w/hump on back" to identify 1st one. ...more Measuring 32" 34" 35" these fish seemed very strong b4 tiring out. They got my attention as I handled them with hands across there "crusher" area & that was barely tolerable as they clamped down. I've caugh both 44"& 48"- flatheads & don't recall that being an issue.
Each BlueI was caught during the day on dead large creek chubs that had been out over an hour b4 initial hit. U might think I changed outfits for pics of same fish so I'll cover them in same post. I will look for conversion chart for approx weight of the 35" & will add to post soon

I had a 9 pound blue and put it in my pond. Caught it a couple more times. One time I needed my pliers to remove the hook and had to switch hands holding the fishes ...more mouth. When I had one hand on each jaw, it clamped down and I am here to tell you it hurt. Not lasting pain, but it caught me off guard and she really clamped down hard. A bluegill doesn't stand a chance in those jaws.
  2. 10-28-18 8:20 pm for weight I used a conversion chart. length measured while laying on bank w/o closing mouth or properly positioning the tail. 23.5" 8lbs+ ...more One heck of a fish to land record & release unharmed single handedly!!

8 lb. 8 oz. 23 in. Large Mouth Bass with a Storm WildEye Live Bluegill Swimbaits

Ty, last yr in the same body of water I/we , as my partner helped in ways that get over looked, caught a 48" Flathead on a freshly shucked clam!! That one ...more was strange as i landed it in 5-10 mins the 44" gave us a run for our $ as it didn't give in 30 + mins!!
    4. Leanna E 0
      nice catch☺

About

Time goes so fast when fishing!! I have been lucky enough to fish at will , fished 40+hrs each week the last 3-4 moon cycles depending on ...more your definition of fishing that is :) Caught my share of fish & a VERY special one to cap a wonderful season. As I was doing what everyone else was doing (would hate that to be the case) The end of October Sunday 8:20pm I'm fishing havent caught anything, then again I just began 5 hrs earlier;) I cast a big jointed jitterbug out in 10'-15' after 3-4 cranks a strike seemed to be investigating as they do typically . I wait a min or so thinking how the sound was different etc. I throw again with the same result same diff sound. Trying to figure out fish is simple I sf o it each time i catch one lol I did switch to a swimi bait slowly dragging it across bttm feeling bait po CV ked up just lifting my rod set the hook in upper jaw thankfully ot I may have never set eyes on this monster s 23.5" 8lbs+ bbn oth ot those measurements are far from official as it was longer & heavier I kid u not. I was by myself and that's one hell of a fish to land, record, & most importantly release unharmed Length is 23.5" w/o laying on proper surface did not close mouth or work tail Its weight is from a conversion chart which r generally accurate however this is a fall fish & pics didnt show the softball belly this fish has been filling for winter!! I plan to add pics Hope u enjoyed!!
