    Had been fishing bottom about 30 ft out in the second tier at 15-20ft depth and getting nothing but tiny striped bass...then...something just started nibbling on ...more it, vs the bluegill type strikes from the striped bass, picked up the pole with line slack, gave it nice quick tug (the hooks are needle sharp) and off to the friggin races... Felt like I hooked a 100lb tarpon without the jumping part for a good minute and a half... I have an ugly still elite medium 6'6" with KastKing yellow 30lb test 8lb diameter line...and a cheaper Shimano r2000 light plastic fresh/salt spinning reel...broke that drag system on the first run...after strong Armin it for a minute...it gave up and came right in...wife couldn't net it. We need a bigger net apparently.

    40 lb. 36 in. Buffalo Carp with a 2 Live Worms from Papa Rock in Dover on a 3/0 offset worm hook (50 assorted carbon steel for 9.99 on Amazon)

    2-4ft bait balls chaser. Wife nailed about 6 more of these size within a week, same area. Same time. After dark, yum craw papi, she got this one using no weight, ...more yet the hook was a straight 2/0 heavy trailer hook, used and Texas rigged.

    4-6ft deep hitting bait balls and craws on the rip rap. Cast parallel to the bank, 6-8ft off the edge, towards the ramp/tree from halfway down the bank. Had multiple ...more strikes, missed this toad in particular twice before nailin him. Had a chunk out of his tail, fought hard.

    The bait balls are crazy after dark in the whole dyers Creek area.

    Retrieve rate on daiwa medium spinning reel of spinnerbait was literally the drum beat of florida state football chant ...hardreel reel reel reel hardreel reel reel ...more reel etc...retrieve was consistant and fast...got nailed by every fish in the area but this one was the biggest from this bank.

    Got out there early and they hit like crazy (every other cast a strike) from twilight to 7:00 am. And it looked like the whole lake was like this. No wind night before. Next day (tuesday after labor day)...couldnt get a bite on anything but red senkos weightless but fish were small...wind was heavier night before. Pretty sure that is a big factor (wind at night) as well as the crazy labor day traffic from the day before.

    Nothibg like a reel shaking strike when you hear nothing but fish topping and birds chirping.

    Cast two feet off bank 20 yds upstream from bridge on left side where rocks jut out...twitched once then thought hung...til it moved. Monster fight but got it in.

    Yup. My wife, Jaime Lynn Lawrence, caught this nice chunk on the southwest side of the point about 10 feet from shore at 4-6 ft depth, twitching the craw two or ...more three times thrn letting it drop back down to the rocks. Hit it like lightning. I had a similar catch at the same spot using same craw but with 1/4 oz ball head screw jig texas rigged poppin the same cadence. Have caught ten or more keepers here all up and down this point and shore at various depths using the same bait and technique. Almost all caught right after sundown from shore. All fish released.
