Had been fishing bottom about 30 ft out in the second tier at 15-20ft depth and getting nothing but tiny striped bass...then...something just started nibbling on it, vs the bluegill type strikes from the striped bass, picked up the pole with line slack, gave it nice quick tug (the hooks are needle sharp) and off to the friggin races... Felt like I hooked a 100lb tarpon without the jumping part for a good minute and a half... I have an ugly still elite medium 6'6" with KastKing yellow 30lb test 8lb diameter line...and a cheaper Shimano r2000 light plastic fresh/salt spinning reel...broke that drag system on the first run...after strong Armin it for a minute...it gave up and came right in...wife couldn't net it. We need a bigger net apparently.
