      @ katie- where i fish also has snags and with the water levels being up even more so now because of all the brushes that are covered now but most of my fishing is ...more done at jones paul park off basspro dr, anywhere from the boat ramp going left until the first point on the wall and I've caught many good ones there. On occasions i fish wind surf bay or at the power plant but the conditions has to be right. Imo the only place i haven't gotten snagged yet is at the power plant( barnes bridge rd) and also a good place to catch hybrid strippers.

      Bait was cut gizzard shad. Was caught on a bass pro outfit, catmaxx reel and 12 ft power plus rod for casting distance, i use these because my equipment takes abuse ...more and dropped around quite alot.Relatively cheap but best bang for the buck ,no problems. I do have alot better quality rods and reels but i use these set ups on the lake because of the price and the abuse they can take but when fall and winter rolls around the abu garias come out to play ,

      Gotta have the knuckles burn man. Grabbing them out of the water when you reel them in is one thing but releasing them is where the burn comes in when they roll ...more and twist but sure love getting after the big ones
