Went up here for another week during vacation August 6-13th - 2017.
We seen dead carp on the shoreline and some of the locals who live on the lake said "Something ...more is killing the carp", Nobody seems to know what it is? Sure its good to have the carp out of the lake but those creatures are eating something
that is killing them off?
Fishing wasn't anything to brag about. Use all types of bait - crawlers, redworms, minnows, jigs, and cranks. Caught a few small perch and let them go!
Clearly, this lake is not what it used to be! The DNR needs to find out what's going on here? Just not the same! Pretty sad because this was a decent place to fish at one time.
A nice patch of weeds with a school of a 100+ perch (youngins) hanging out. Sits in about 6' of water. Water temps today are around 73.
At one time this was a good lake for taking the family fishing. The last two years, the lake has been over fished and it's not like it used to be.
Years ...more ago, you could locate fish and make a nice day of fishing.
Not anymore. Even when the DNR did the netting they came up
short. Why? It's been said that the last few years the ice fisherman
overfished the lake. Going to take a few years to get this lake where it used to be.
Water levels are up at least 2". Quite a few docks sitting right on top of the water.
Fun little fighter. This fish spent more time in the air than in the water.
Glad I threw a line in before dinner. Top water action!
I rigged up one pole and before I could get the second line in the water she pulls this out. That's my girl!
