  1. Details: Largemouth Bass

I'm back baby and for the next solid month I'll be fishing hard! First fishing trip in months to my local creek and got some real lunkers haha. Casting parallel ...more to the banks with a fast retrieve and got 8 of these hatchlings varying a few inches in length. Catching bass isn't as common as catching green sunfish so it was an interesting day. Many more pics to come!

  2. Details: Longear Sunfish

Caught this beautiful Longear a couple days ago and got a great close up! The colors on these fish make them one of my absolute favorite freshwater species. It hit ...more as my bait flowed out of a long shallow pool into an even smaller but deep stream. The fish were hanging on the bottom waiting on an easy meal to pass by.

  3. Details: Bluegill Sunfish with a Powerbait Crappie Bites

Landed 15-20 fish around 6:00pm close to the bank in 2-3fow. I've never seen a bluegill with so much sheen blue coloration on it, very unique. This fish is not ...more particularly large but granted that this area is home to many bass and bullheads, a 10+ incher is in their somewhere. I've caught a few in the 7-8.5in range. Will start using small cranks and jigs to hunt for some giants.

  4. Details: Redear (shellcracker) Sunfish with a Black Jitterbug

Hooked this unique fish on a black jitterbug around 8:35pm last night (explaining the bad clarity haha). Looks to be a first for me with a Redear/Green Sunfish hybrid. ...more What do yall think? The very next cast after this fish a 1.5lb+ bass blew up on my bait and then nothing.

Good eye I completely missed the fin coloration @theSturgeonGeneral13 you're completely correct, that greenish tinge is a dead give away

Yeah the orange on the fins made me immediately point towards Green Sunfish and something else. I was on the right track just forgot about shell crackers haha @theSturgeonGeneral13

No problem @FISH_FEST and I do believe it is a hybrid @TennesseeTroutboy I have done a fair bit of sunfish ID and the fin coloration is that of a Green and the mouth ...more is larger than a plain Redear's

Just a plain ole Redear sunfish, and I'm surprised he hit a jitterbug
    7. Collin Collin 0
Yeah that looks to be perfect, thanks @theSturgeonGeneral13

Since we don't have Pumpkinseed here in Texas I suspect it's a Green Sunfish/Redear Sunfish hybrid.

  5. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Berkley Powerbait Swim Shad

Didn't have any problems on the hook set with this one. I think he wanted it haha. Put some jumping in! One of three fish landed from yesterday.

  6. Details: Largemouth Bass with a Sinkers, spooks, jerkbaits, and plenty of line

Cleaning up the house today and found an entire tackle bag of lures and line in my closet! This is what happens when your tackle addiction starts to get out of hand ...more I guess haha

    1. Steve Toth 0
I here ya man I'm out of control too.. Half of my lures don't even get thrown because of time.
  7. Details: Green Sunfish with a Rebel Crickhopper (fire tiger)

My intro to topwater night fishing! Tear this creek up every time I go but stayed after dark to test the waters this most recent time out. Really looking forward ...more to some bass fishing in the nights to come with my head lamp and hat light clip.
