48" Red Drum on a 9' Daiwa interline, flounder rig, 14# test, no shock leader of any kind
Redfish in the slot and over have been up and down the beaches, grubs tipped w/ shrimp have been working the best. Some trout and under slot reds are being caught ...more up the creeks in the tidal marsh, both grubs and mr 17 have been producing fish. Bluefish in the inlets and albacore have been in 50' of water off the beach. The big red drums are over on the eastside of the shoals, I sure by May they will be on this side as well. Blowtoads, croakers and seamullets have been making their way into the inlets, should be some great fishing.
have a great day.

Good trout fishing in the creeks and the mouths of the rivers. Some fish are being caught on the beaches and rock jetties as well. 1/4 to 3/8 grub heads w/ whites ...more zoom have been doing the trick on the trout. Xmas tree and chartreuse curly tail grubs are taking fish too. Drums in the marshes and creeks in the upper slot have been plentiful; grubs tipped w/ a piece of shrimp have been deadly. The beach is also producing a good number of drum in the slot and over the slot. Flounders around the port and bridges, live mullets and bucktails tipped w/ a strip of bait is working well. Some sheepshead and black drum are also coming from these areas.

Excellent fall fishing continues this week with ne winds 15 to 20and falling out during the week. Drum, trout and flounders are in the sounds, bays, rivers and creeks. ...more The big chill hasn’t happen yet and the fish are spread out. Loads of small trout in the 12 to 13 inch range, if you’re in them thick move a little to find the bigger trout, they are around. Both the Newport and North rivers are producing drum and trout in good numbers. Also check out Bogue and Back sounds. The port wall and brides are holding black drum, big flounders and sheepshead on crabs, mullets and bucktails. Bluefish in the inlets are taking spec rigs and jigs and bottom fisherman using shrimp and sand fleas are catching spots, sea mullets, croakers and flounder. Plenty of pull from the large schools of false albacore that have been on the beaches for the past few weeks, small spoons, small soft plastics are working great for spin rods and fly fishermen are using clouser minnows. The beaches have been fishing well in the north winds, drum, flounders and a few trout are bending a good number of rods. Beach bottom fishermen are catching black drum, flounders, sea mullets, croakers and spot. Get out and go fishing.

Excellent Spanish and blue fishing on the beaches and right outside the inlets, a few kings mixed in w/ the bunch. Trolled 4" drone spoons and caught Spanish ...more to four pounds on Saturday but the fishing has been good all week long. Live baiting peanut shad and finger mullets are catching some very big Spanish. Fished in the rain on Sunday and the bite was still very strong. False albacore have been schooling down the beaches. Strong tides on this harvest moon we had on Wed. pushing the drum way back in the grass. Some nice trout are coming out of the rivers.
Go Fishing,

Bait is everywhere and the fishing has been off the hook. Topwater plugging to fresh bait under popping corks have all been extremely effective tools for the trout ...more and drum. Some nice 20" plus flounder are being taken on live shad and mullets. Blues and Spanish in the inlets on high tides and on the beach 20 to 50' of water. The reefs off the beach has seeing some nice flounder as well using bucktails and bait.
See ya, Dave

Fishing has picking up as the recent winds out of the north have made the finger mullets start pouring down the sounds and bays. The reds, trout Spanish blues and ...more flounder are taking advantage of these large schools of mullets making their way towards the inlets. Live bait, fresh cut bait and topwater plugs have been working on both reds and speckled trout. Blues and Spanish have been around the shoals in the inlet and bird shoals. Some nice reds are coming off Fort Macon and Shackled as well. Some 20 to 30 pound kings were caught this weekend right outside the inlet.
Have fun and be safe,
