1. Excellent fall fishing continues this week with ne winds 15 to 20and falling out during the week. Drum, trout and flounders are in the sounds, bays, rivers and creeks. ...more The big chill hasn’t happen yet and the fish are spread out. Loads of small trout in the 12 to 13 inch range, if you’re in them thick move a little to find the bigger trout, they are around. Both the Newport and North rivers are producing drum and trout in good numbers. Also check out Bogue and Back sounds. The port wall and brides are holding black drum, big flounders and sheepshead on crabs, mullets and bucktails. Bluefish in the inlets are taking spec rigs and jigs and bottom fisherman using shrimp and sand fleas are catching spots, sea mullets, croakers and flounder. Plenty of pull from the large schools of false albacore that have been on the beaches for the past few weeks, small spoons, small soft plastics are working great for spin rods and fly fishermen are using clouser minnows. The beaches have been fishing well in the north winds, drum, flounders and a few trout are bending a good number of rods. Beach bottom fishermen are catching black drum, flounders, sea mullets, croakers and spot. Get out and go fishing.
