Fishing has picking up as the recent winds out of the north have made the finger mullets start pouring down the sounds and bays. The reds, trout Spanish blues and ...more flounder are taking advantage of these large schools of mullets making their way towards the inlets. Live bait, fresh cut bait and topwater plugs have been working on both reds and speckled trout. Blues and Spanish have been around the shoals in the inlet and bird shoals. Some nice reds are coming off Fort Macon and Shackled as well. Some 20 to 30 pound kings were caught this weekend right outside the inlet.
