  1. Details: Largemouth Bass

Definitely won't be breaking any state records on the fly but it was a good time getting out today.

  2. Details: Smallmouth Bass

It was overcast with not much wind out and I started pitching a jig. I was only getting short strikes and that's when I threw a top water. Walking a spook ...more casting at the bank and caught these 2 nice smallmouth. Then I saw a nice thick weed patch and tied on a frog and caught this nice largemouth. Not a bad few hours out with my buddy!

  3. Details: Bluegill Sunfish

Had a good bass bite this afternoon on a square bill crank and caught about 6 decent size bass. Then the biggest bluegill I have ever seen in my life took a swing ...more at my crankbait and I got it in the boat.

Learned how to tie other minnow style flies last night and I think they came out awesome. Not bad for only tying flies for only a few weeks.

First time out fly fishing for stripers and I didn't catch anything but had an awesome time. It's really cool trying to catch fish with a fly you tied yourself.

Not perfect but my first attempt of a clouser minnow. My girlfriends dad gave me a 10 weight fly rod and I love drown the street of an awesome river that holds ...more good stripers. I'm gonna keep trying hopefully I get the hang of this. Any tips will help.

    1. Chris Skinner 0
Trust me, it's better than the first ones I tied up! Lol
    2. Tim calzone 0
@Cowboy713 yeah I know the threads are a little sloppy up towards the nose but I'll definitely be practicing a lot so it looks cleaner.
    3. Chris Skinner 0
Nice! The only thing I can see is maybe just work on thread control a bit, but that comes with practice. That will definitely catch fish!
    4. Matthew_L 0
I've had some success with a clouser crayfish for carp in Michigan as well, smallies love them too.
    5. Chuck LaBruna 0
@TimCalzone Actually, yes I do. I tie a fly for carp that resembles corn, and I kill em with that. It's really easy to tie as well. I'll tag you in a pic ...more of it

@Matthew_L I wish we had snook around here! We got some good stripers from schoolies up to the world record in CT and we got big blue fish up to 15-18 pounds and ...more false albacore come around too
    7. Matthew_L 0
That looks good, that would catch a snook!
    8. Tim calzone 0
River down the steeet where I live and they get up to 25 pounds over there. I herd they are a blast to catch.
    9. Tim calzone 0
@wyldechylde77 I watched a bunch of YouTube videos so I'm making some sparse some thick and experimenting with different colors. Also do you know any good flies ...more for carp? I have a ton of them in
    10. Chuck LaBruna 0
Actually it looks good! Clousers should be a bit on the sparse side, so good job there. But experiment, make some sparse, some with more. The fish will tell you for ...more sure

  8. Details: Brown Trout

I've had a fly rod for years now and just never got into it. None of my friends fly fish so I can't learn from them so any tips can help. I'm willing ...more to go alone because most of the fishing i do is by myself because none of my friends are as addicted as I am.

    1. Tommy Brown 0
my tip would be to go to LL Bean and take fly fishing courses.
  9. Details: Hybrid Striped Bass

Just casting a grub tail around and hooked into about 6 stripers this size.

  10. Details: Golden Rainbow Trout

Got out for an hour today and caught a few and missed a few.
