Once a year I recommend checking your waders (breathable or neoprene) for signs of leaks. Everyone who has ever worn waders in the peak of winter and found a leak ...more can attest to how annoying and uncomfortable they can be, especially in the feet and sensitive areas! This is the water test (WARNING! do not try this inside) Hang your waders from a solid structure (preferably a fence or tree) and fill

@Ben_Sanford you got that right, I found a few pinholes this past trout season while standing in 50° water with 28° air temp, certainly wasn't fun!

@jurssica @Reel_Smooth thanks ya'll! @matt very true, I like to have mine set to where the feet take some of the weight, though with all the waders I've ...more done this with, the straps held them up fine

I used to duck & deer hunt in waders. Nothing worse than being a mile from the truck, standing in 35° water and taking that next step deeper, only to "find" ...more a leak. (Or have it find you!)

Good stuff man. Just guessing but it's probably best to watch how much water you put in while hanging. Weight adds up fast.

Pool (or better yet on the next fishing trip) to check and make sure the patches got all of the leaks. If you missed some, just repeat the process! This will save ...more you a lot of damp days on the water!
    8. Chris Skinner 0
Cut them to the desired sizes to match your leaks, now use an iron **SET ON LOW** (this is crucial) and iron the patches on over your marked leaks, once this is ...more done I like to wear my waders in the
    9. Chris Skinner 0
Take the waders down and remove all the water, hang the waders up to dry for s couple of days, flip them right side out again to make sure they are dry inside and ...more out, now take your wader patches and

Have a leak! Look for the origin of the water and mark it with your sharpie/paint pen (as seen from the small Xs in my picture) once you have thoroughly checked ...more the waders all the way up to the chest
    11. Chris Skinner 0
Them up with water (I turn mine inside out so I can mark the spots where I want to patch more easily) once filled take a towel and wipe down any wet areas on the ...more waders. If the water comes back you
