Part of the Jim Edgar Panther Creek Wildlife Area, Prairie Lake is a relatively new body of water. It was opened to public access in 2002. Gridley Lake and Drake Lake are nearby smaller ponds within the wildlife area.

      I was at otter lake today. 6am it was 61-62. when I left at 1pm it was 64-65

      Yes it is a beautiful lake, I have seen some nice bass caught from shore a few times also. There are a couple of musky fisherman I've seen pretty regular out ...more there also, so there is that too. I've accidentally caught a crappie or two. I think they stocked small mouth years ago but never saw one there. Definitely lg mouth, if I can figure out how to post and if I can find it, I'll post that 5.5 lber.

      if I was to build a lake it would be exactly like this place. only fished it once last year in the middle of the summer. just a long drive for me.

      Haven't been there this year but the wooded bank right across from the boat ramp is a good place to start. Find the drop offs and toss big rubber worms, letting ...more them slowly drop to the bottom. Caught a 5.5 lber. doing that. they like the deep bottom close to shore there. Worth a try, that was in mid summer and about 95 degrees, but they could still be deep waiting for easy food to drop down from the wooded shoreline...Good luck!

      I was at otter lake yesterday and it was mid 60s. I would imagine it will be close to the same. if I make it out there I'll post.
