Dept. Natural Resources counting the fish population today at one of my favorite spots. Strong population at Springfield and Sanchris in Illinois but average sizes ...more nothing breathtaking.

I looked at the new il reg book. Sangchris no longer has a slot limit. 3 large or small mouth a day over 15". Must of changed in last 2 years, I think. I know ...more there are Threadfin shad in Sangchris , but are there Gizzard shad in there? Clinton is 3 large or small mouth a day over 16".

They had a soft bite today, had to downsize my presentation. the big ones relating to wood in shallow coves. the rest are schooled up slamming flukes, etc.
