  4. Details: Smallmouth Bass with a Strike king 3XD: chili red craw color

Slow day yesterday looking for some cruising prespawners along steep rock walls with a drop shot, found us a couple of maybe 1.5 to 2lbers so we decided to make ...more a run to the big flat. I was pretty sure they would be there because flats are where they like to spawn and I figured they would be moving up right now and feeding. Sure enough, 10 mins. After arriving to the big flat I was cranking

    1. jason felter 0

And there was wind and a little bit of stained water but not much but it was enough to make this big girl want to hit . Warm day, warming up 50-70 degrees thought ...more the day with water temps around
    7. jason felter 0
Blue bird skies with no wind or cloud cover, and very warm when we first started out, and that was making the fish not bite, on anything so we ran up river to the ...more flat
    8. jason felter 0
Down a 3xd strike king crankbait against the wind trying to get the lure to, or as close to the bottom as possible, and this big prespawner absolutely hit the crankbait ...more like a freight train!

  6. Details: Smallmouth Bass with a Black zoom finesse worm with a dip dye chartreuse and garlic tip

Pre-fishing Brownlee reservoir for the first high school bass tournament of this year. Fishing a steep rock wall with a drop shot slowly wiggling the worm in place ...more then bouncing it ever 20-45 seconds. Very subtle bite, but 3.3lb smallie!! My new PB! Very awesome to catch this fish in practice! Water temperature Was about 48-49 degrees. We only got 3 bites all day but they were nice ones!

  7. Details: Smallmouth Bass with a Truck for towing a boat

I am looking at buying a new truck to haul around a larger boat. The boat would be a 2001 triton tr-186 (18 ft 6in) fiberglass bass boat it is about 1400lbs not ...more including the motor and trailer. And the rig I am looking at to tow it is a 1996 GMC Sierra 1500 4.3L V6 but it is only 2 wheel drive. And the towing capacity for the truck is 2000lbs. So my question is if it will pull/launch it ok?

    1. TennesseeTroutboy 0
I Tow around a 21ft trailer with a 18ft procraft on my little Nissan Frontier
    2. dgrabe217 0
The 5.2 should be plenty as the 150 Johnson weighs roughly 500 if it is two stroke
    3. jason felter 0
      @dgrabe217
    4. jason felter 0
      It's got a 150 Johnson. We aren't going to buy the 4.3L v6 we are looking at a dodge 5.2L v8
    5. dgrabe217 0
I recommend not getting a tundra. It has the lowest towing capacity of a full size truck. What size horsepower does the boat have
    6. dgrabe217 0
That is low towing capability for the specs of the truck.
    7. jason felter 0
At least 30-40 years old hahahaha @htgaddis
    8. jason felter 0
I like GMC.... Never tried a Chevy but I think it is because there are so many older gmc and Chevys... I feel like I don't see as many old fords, I had an old ...more GMC and the transmission went out but its
    9. htgaddis 0
I no people who are having tons of problems with their transmissions going out on gmc and chevys i would go with a toyota tundra if its in ur price range
    10. Chris Skinner 0
Look for something with a 5.3 V8 more than enough power for that, and no 4x4 really needed, but it does come in handy
    11. jason felter 0
Thank you for your help! I am just skeptical about buying the truck especially if it is going to be difficult to launch and load the boat up from the water.. @Cowboy713 ...more @Slightchop
    12. michael michael 0
^^^^ well said the weight will definitely make your truck slide into the water on a steep slick ramp
    13. Chris Skinner 0
Ramp would be hairy. So I would give it a try, but be cautious of the ramp you're using
    14. Chris Skinner 0
Far as can it launch that boat? It depends on the length, angle, and depth of the ramp, a long, flat ramp into fairly shallow water, on a ramp with good traction, ...more no problem, but a steep ramp or slick
    15. Chris Skinner 0
The answer is tricky there, under most circumstances the answer to "will it tow?" Is yes, the better question is "will it stop the load?" It ...more will pull that, your gas mileage will just suffer a lot. As

  8. Details: Smallmouth Bass with a rapala dt-8 in brown and white color

Long hot day on the water last Sunday. But first decent fish on the new boat, hit in about 6 FOW coming off of a rocky ledge hot it first cast, only sinks the rest ...more of the day though

    1. Isaac Carey 0
Ya but at $600 freshly tuned both motors I could replace the carpet and not of had the 3hp kicker and it still would have been a killer deal pretty clean in the ...more pics I saw but again missed it by 2 min
    2. jason felter 0
Yea they go fast, especially if it's a good deal. What you have to know now is that any boat you et off craigslist that is older and looks like a good deal will ...more most likely require some TLC @bassman3869
    3. Isaac Carey 0
Sweet got a pretty good deal
    4. Isaac Carey 0
I just lost one it was $600 & in good condition just a little old(80s)and outdated minnkota pedal con. trolling 75hp gas,3hp kicker 3 m-batts livewell the whole ...more nine yrds called 2 mins to late
    5. Isaac Carey 0
Nice boat, how's it working for ya? How many hp? And how much $$ was it

    2. jason felter 0
You can find tournaments on the fish and game website
    3. jason felter 0
I'm part of a club so we do monthly tourneys but, there are what are called "opens" and they for are any body to enter. Those are the ones where you ...more can work your way up and so on @bassman3869
    4. jason felter 0
I'm 15, I don't have any sponsors yet but I am planning for some. A tip I learned is do not bug any companies until you can get atleast a couple of tournaments ...more under your belt
    5. Isaac Carey 0
And how do you find out when and where the tournaments are? Is there a web site or something?
    6. Isaac Carey 0
How old r u? How did you get a sponsor without doing tournaments?
    7. Isaac Carey 0
This year I'm gonna be 14 so I can now legally do tournaments so this summer I'm will do some
    8. jason felter 0
14 out of 16 and my big fish was bigger than 9th places big fish, just was catching shorts. You fishing any tournament this year? @bassman3869

    3. jason felter 0

    6. Dave Garren 0
Excellent choices man! Can't go wrong with any Gambler product and your going to love those SpinBait 80s! They sink 1' per second so easy to count down to ...more desired depth. Remember, reel them in as...
