Went ultralight jigging for an hour in 45 degree Carnegie Lake this afternoon in the cold rain during a west wind small craft advisory a day before the full moon. One car was in the parking lot when I arrived and none were there when I left. Air temperature was 46 degrees. Only one other fisherman was there for a short time in the cold rain. I didn’t see him catch anything. Went 4 for 4 on my first four casts. Caught and released 9 white perch and a black crappie with Walmart garlic night crawlers on 4 lb test line. My 1/8 oz white leadhead jig in a double overhand knotted loop on the end of my line worked. The line didn’t twist or tangle. My hands got very cold from wearing rubber gloves 🧤 to keep the worm 🪱 dirt off of my fingers and fingernails. I quit early. Cold weather fishing 🎣 is not fun. I may try surf fishing tomorrow. Shot one duck Saturday.
