Another better than average Susquehanna River monster on topwater.
Another better than average Susquehanna River monster on topwater.
Double! Two bass on one cast. Fishing partner got great video of me fighting and landing both bass.
20.25” Susquehanna River smallmouth my biggest of the day. Two of us combined for a total of 100 fish. Ned Rig and topwater.
Another fantastic day two of us combined for 186 bass. NED, swimbait, and topwater. 10% of the water holds 90% of the fish- keep searching until you get multiple ...more fish in a spot them cover it well .
One of the 230 bass two of us caught the other day river fishing in the rain. An amazing day! Chunky fish well fed on crayfish you could see everywhere while wading ...more through water .
Top Susquehanna River fishing trip in 26 years. Two of us combined for 230 bass with a good number of big river fish. Some were the 6-9” size but others were 20” ...more and fat. Was cold and rained half the day. Only got around 25 on topwater really expected to catch a ton on Torpedoes and Whoppers.
Couple tiny ones we caught. Captain Morris (RIP) on the right. His life was one big adventure. He guided saltwater for monster tarpon, snook, billfish and he helped ...more freshwater fishing friends and clients catch hundreds of ten pound bass. If I remember correctly I think one year 34 people fishing with him got largemouth bass over 10. I have the distinct pleasure of catching the largest bass with him. It was a proud day for both of us. He also captained a yacht that traveled around the Caribbean, Gulf of America, and other amazing places. He had two wonderful children and I had the pleasure of going to a restaurant with him and his son last time I was in town. Hopefully I can fish with Chris (son) in the future.
This is from the last week we fished together. Hit the lake for a couple days. On this morning we towed in a boat that sank and then Morris (RIP) used his pickup ...more truck to pull boat up bank to drain it. After that we pushed/towed boat back into water and helped them get it on trailer. Bet we spent a couple hours bailing out two strangers- that’s the kind of guy Morris was. Still had plenty of time to catch a ten pounder that day.
RIP Captain Morris. I never would have caught this beast without him (and over a dozen other bass between 8 & 10.8 pounds). We only fished together a handful ...more of times but we became great friends. After Florida presented me with the replica mount we celebrated at a steakhouse. I always insisted on buying. I had to hit the restroom and when I returned to table and flagged down waitress for the bill he had already paid. It was Veteran’s Day and he said thank you for your service.
