Went fishing 🎣 on the Manasquan Inlet north jetty this evening on a warm, sunny day with a strong south wind and outgoing tide. Got the first parking spot again. 10 surfers 🏄♂️ and many boats 🚤 were on the ocean. A spear fisherman was in the inlet. Minnows were jumping. Caught, tagged and released a 13” fluke with a plain hook Ava A-17. Lost a big skate in the rocks. Caught, tagged and released a 27” striped bass with my brother John’s homemade synthetic black and white buck tail teaser. Caught, tagged and released a 23” striped bass on a yellow A-Salt Bomber. Caught, tagged and released an 11.5” windowpane flounder with my brother John’s homemade synthetic pink and white buck tail teaser in the surf at night. After a big wave receded, I picked up a sand eel and took a photo. Fluke and minnows were in the inlet under the lights again. Didn’t get a hit there. Saw a squid fisherman with an underwater green light in Point Pleasant. Caught fish 🎣 at Manasquan on my last 20 consecutive trips.
