1. Details: Hardhead Catfish with a Live mullet, cut mullet, like croaker, cut croaker, live crabs, half crab, dead shrimp.

After catching the first surf fish of 2016 season a thought came across my mind. What is better.... catching a single hardhead or getting skunked. Thought about ...more this last three hours while soaking everything on the menu. Haven't made up my mind just yet.... Any thoughts? Going at it again tomorrow tight lines. Winds:14-16 NW

    1. Jonathan Boettcher 0
Screw those hardheads! I'd much rather get skunked.
    2. Surf_Fish_King 0
@InshoreKing very true, if you think it's a red and it ends up being a hard head....grrr. I fished 5 hours today and switched up rigs last min to make sure ...more I didn't get skunked! Will try again soon.
    3. Inshore King 0
I would say hard head because before u bring it in u could be thinking of another fish and also u still will get some action

Look solid, I see you snelled the hooks, did you use the uni knot snell, or the traditional snell? And what are the rest of the knots you used?
    2. Surf_Fish_King 0
@MulletHead thanks! For some reason slot reds loved those this year.

Red Drum. Surveyed while harvesting small largemouth bass. We stocked this guy a few years ago. 30 inches 19 pounds. The colors are more vibrant then what I'm ...more used to on the coast. Great (lucky) find.

    1. Surf_Fish_King 0
@ChanceHuiet Stocked a different lake. Just an added target species.
    2. Sean Wilms 0
Hmm interesting. I didn't realize they grew so fast. Good news for our industry that's doing poor right now but maybe in 6 or so years it'll be doing ...more fine again...maybe
    3. Surf_Fish_King 0
@seaturtles about 2 pounds. They grow fast in saltwater but hard to catch. In 6ish years they've only caught 2.
