    came out this morning and saw schools of shad swimming close to my dock so I cast netted about 8 and threw them all back but 1. Cut em up and casted between a boat ...more lift, twitched and rolled on the bottom then left it and he smashed it! Beautiful 20" red. First good size one. Made my morning.

    caught about 2 hours ago, @ConnorD and I were using a variety of softbaits and they were not biting. We were leaving because of the mosquitoes but I threw on my ...more roach real quick and the first pitch I bounced it across the beds a few times and it took off.

    Got one on the speed shad this morning. It hit it once and I missed it then casted in the same vicinity and hooked it. Fairly calm, 90 degrees, not much activity.

    It's a lady fish. Good bait fish but caught it on a live mullet I was cast netting for on green lights around the canals in Rockport, Tx. It was fun to hit the ...more ocean and get a bite right away on the 4th. going fully prepared for reds and trout next time! (I'm holding it awkwardly because it was a feisty one, but not squeezing it)
