      I don't know. The bite was in the side. The fish stopped moving in 2-5 minutes. The post was to try and help someone stay safe.

      texas definitely has its fair share of snakes haha. I've never come across a live rattlesnake but have seen a few cottonmouths and countless water snakes @Pabucks

      That is not a Cottonmouth. It is a Diamond Back Water Snake, completely non venomous and in my own personal experiences not aggressive at all, maybe if you hook ...more or try to grab then maybe another story
