      I usually use shad in the summer but never caught stuff with them in the winter. But thx I'll try it with a twist like some liver blood

      I use shad for big blues in the winter.

      A simple slip rig should do. Bait: minnows(something oil or bloody), chicken liver, worms, etc. I would set up along the river where it bends and causes calm spots, ...more forks in the river, and humps.
