    In the mountains fishing a stream. Water was pretty slow moving.

      But the horns might feel like rubber but the horns come out of the rubber like feature when the fish senses a fish getting to close to their nest, the horns also ...more attract female to mate.

      There called chubs during the spawn the males grow the horns to scare off other fish so other fish don't eat their eggs

      Hornyhead chub is their name. They make great smallmouth bait I hear. Only the males get the horns on their head tho. @Mississippi_Fisherman
