Got 5 of them on creek chubs, they were bitten then like crazy

    1. KnightCrawler22 0
Nice smallmouth. Are you fishing near the boat ramp by frontier? I've been catching some nice ones down in the poca boat ramp area. Where are you getting your ...more creek chubs for bait? @northernfishing
  2. Details: Smallmouth Bass

Just messing around with the kid today, got a few , not bad for 45 min fishing

  3. Who knows what kind of snake this is? It's not a copperhead but it doesn't look like a water sneakers either. It has the cat eyes like a copperhead and the ...more sucker was not afraid at all. He saw me, moved his head and was watching me did not even try to run. Water snakes usually run as soon as you come close.

    1. bassman17 0
that's definitely a northern water when I'm not fishing i catch snakes lol they're not venomous but their head is like that to trick you they're ...more a hell of a snake to catch
    2. King_Fisher 0
Northern water snake there non venomous but the are aggressive if you mess with them but I walk right past them when fishing all the time with no problem.
    3. Wyatt Prappas 0
maybe a wierdly colored cottonmouth because that snake definitely looks venomous
    4. Seth McDowell 0
Water snakes are actually extremely aggressive and will stand their ground like a copperhead. Doesn't look like that snake has venom sacs on its head but it's ...more hard to tell
    5. TennesseeTroutboy 0
Northern watersnake once they get that big they get mean, I had a four footer stare me down with a 9" bullhead in its mouth

Can't wait for the water levels to go down, smallmouth started hitting but for now I have to to put up with largemouths and spotted bad.

    1. JohnnyCat 0
Every river around here is like that right now.
    2. Steve Toth 0
Wow they don't lie with the name on that river!
    3. TennesseeTroutboy 0

  6. Details: Brown Trout with a Worm and jig.

Water was very high , did not think I was going to any. At the end got 3 brown trouts and lost 2. One was a very nice one maybe 10-15 range. Had my fly rod tried ...more that for about an hour, got nothing. Tried spinners, got nothing. Went back to the basics, dug up some worms. Rigged a crappie jig orange out a worm on it, cast right behind the white water, got one on the first cast.

    1. northernfishing 0
About 10 ft above normal level. Had some very bad flooding in the last couple of weeks. Water temps are in high 50's low 60's in some places perfect for ...more smallmouth fishing, but he damn water levels
    2. JohnnyCat 0
Would love to be on the new river. Was the water high there?

  7. Details: Blue Catfish with a Minnow

Originally was going for crappies, got 5 of them. But then the catfish started hitting the minnows. Got 9 catfish mix of blue cats and channels. Never got this many ...more cats on minnows they were extremely aggressive. We had so much rain in the last 2 weeks so the waters were chocolate color and very high.

    1. JohnnyCat 0
I know what you mean about the rain. Nice bunch of catfish
    2. basslak 0

  8. Details: Brook Trout with a Joes March brown spinner size # 8 & 10.

Beautiful day 70f degrees. Got 4 of them lost a couple of more. Most of them caught in the tributaries maybe 2-5 inches of depth, not in the main river. Monongahela ...more national forest WV. North fork of the cherry river. Fishing was ok but the scenery makes up even if you don't catch any.

  9. Details: Golden Rainbow Trout with a Spinner-royal coachman

Got only one today. Lost 6 of them 1 ft from the bank. Very frustrating when you reel the fish in and you loose it right in front of your hand.

    1. TennesseeTroutboy 0
@wyldechylde77 you got me on this one, sometimes on the obey the rainbows have a speckled look like this one does so i thought that was the case
    2. Chuck LaBruna 0
Not even a hybrid of some sort, as Browns and Rainbows do not hybridize. They may not stock them in the area, but that's not to say one didn't get in the ...more mix (obviously haha).
    3. Chuck LaBruna 0
...like a Rainbow. That's a dead giveaway as Browns are the only trout species with a squared tail fin. Even stocked Rainbows have a bit of a fork.
    4. Chuck LaBruna 0
@Mason_Cizek @northernfishing @MusicCityBass @TennesseeTroutboy Guys, it's a Brown. They can take on that silvery pattern, and see the brown on its cheek? Also, ...more tail is squared, not forked like a..
    5. TennesseeTroutboy 0
Rainbow @northernfishing @Mason_Cizek but one of the strangest I've seen pattern wise. I believe you if you say they don't stock brown
    6. Mason Cizek 0
@TennesseeTroutboy @MusicCityBass what do y'all think. I see brown in the face
    7. King_Fisher 0
      Yeah it's a rainbow.
    8. northernfishing 0
That's what I was thinking too. If you look closer you lol see it's strange rainbow. They don't stock Browns in this part of the river, only Brookies ...more and rainbows
    9. Mason Cizek 0
      That's a brown trout.
