  4. Details: Mulloway with a Ando Hardbody Lure

Hooked this monster at night off the rocks. Fell on slippery rocks trying to land the brute. Twisted knee. Had to call a mate on mobile at 11pm. He raced out and ...more found me in the water holding on to the fish. The one that didn't get away. 50lb of Agro! But well worth it.

23kg mulloway (jewfish) from the east coast of Oz. This one gave the hardest fight. It makes a great story. Rod was a Daiwa Seajigger and reel, the Saltiga 6500 ...more with 50lb mono straight through.

    1. JewHunter 0
Thanks guys. Tend to tag and release these days but this one fed us well for a couple of weeks.

Thanks @txfisherman So many hours in the pitch black of the new moon go into catching these fish. They take a floating hardbody off the surface. It's as exciting ...more as it gets.

A jewfish (mulloway) from the local break wall. I tag and release these beautiful fish (unless bleeding from gills) for a big NSW study. Similar to the Drum in the ...more US. It was around 17kg and put up a strong fight.

    1. JewHunter 0
@bassinboy01 ....legend. Thanks mate. Really appreciated.

@JewHunter @AllWaterLife I added Mulloway to the species list. Trying to stay away from jewfish so there isn't any confusion between this fish and the goliath ...more grouper. Thanks guys!!
    3. JewHunter 0
Would love to see them added!!
    4. AllWaterLife 0
@bassinboy01 Jewfish needs to be added!
    5. JewHunter 0
Yes!! The bigger ones have ciguatera. But the smaller ones are incredible eating. I haven't chased them yet but they are in the bucket list:)
