  2. I'm trying to decide whether or not to get the gloomis inshore rod with the stradic that they have as a combo at the local bait shop that costs $415 or save ...more my parents some money and go with the cheaper and just as effective St. Croix Mojo inshore rod paired with a stradic that would come in at around $250-$300. Is the gloomis really worth it. I think I would be to scared to scratch it up. Comment

I have a mojo inshore with a stradic that i use for flounder, stripers, and whatever else bites and its a great setup,i also use the tiderunner with a stradic for ...more deeper water and its great

Check out Starr rods. Haddrells Point carries them. Save some your parents some $. Lifetime warranty even if you break one by shutting it in the car door.

I'd go with the cheaper combo. I'm sure the other combo is great but not $200 more great haha.
    4. dylangtrue7 0
or you can get the spinfisher vkmbo
    5. dylangtrue7 0
to save you some money penn spinfisher and an ugly stick really good combo
    6. dylangtrue7 0
Yeah way too much unless your doing big, 200 dollar rod and reel set is good enough to catch you a nice size shark.
    7. John478 0
Yea I know exactly what you mean but the and stuff is where that warranty comes in
    8. fisher_of_men 0
I like the gloomis but I don't want the responsibility of having a $250 rod and being scared to scratch it and stuff @John478
    9. John478 0
I hear ya @fisher_of_men I like my triumph but there are also saltwater st croix that feel good to me on the shelf but I haven't fished them. The g loomis is ...more by far the nicest I've put in my hands

I have a st croix triumph pared with a penn battle 3500 for reds trout and flounder and I wanted something similar but a little step up
    12. John478 0
      Suit you just fine
    13. John478 0
I've fished my cousins MH bass rod and it felt really well, you get what you pay for but if money is kind of tight and you feel like its a bit overboard go go ...more that expensive then St croix will
    14. John478 0
I personally fish St Croix everything not bc I'm a fanboy of the brand or anything I just got a few really really good deals on the sizes I was looking for. ...more G-loom is is really good stuff as well
    15. Travis Henderson 0
      Uglystick
    16. Lunk_Lifestyle 0
      G-Loomis lifetime warranty
    17. Walker Wilson 0
St. Croix is a great brand and popular for the inshore series rods, but if you want to save money I don't think it would be much of a downgrade to get the Croix, ...more but G-loomis lives up to the name

I use $30 Rod and reel combos from HEB and they last for years and never had a problem lol!!
    19. Andrew Alonzo 0
ive never used either brands but i know people who use the falcon coastal hd rods and are very satisfied with them, so that may be an option if you are willing
    20. Rafael Flores 0
do you really need to go that expensive? ? where do you fish? what do you plan to catch? from where are you fishing from?

  4. Details: Blue Catfish with a Hot Dog Slice

Tossed out a slice of hot dog on a carolina rig within a few seconds my rod tip started going up and down and then slammed down. I didn't know what I would catch ...more because I have never fished the freshwater part of the intracoastal waterway and didn't know what I would catch. This fish fought harder than a Redfish.
