  4. Details: Grass Carp with a 22 CB's

Shot this carp a while back in our PRIVATE POND. Reeled him in on a rod and reel and then shot him. Did this because I was using 10lb test and I didn't think ...more i could get him in.

    1. Get into other water bodies and mess them up. Haha if you don't wanna see "trash" fish like these get shot then just leave @zweber13
    2. Idiotic? Carp are almost like the feral hogs of the water. They eat every thing pretty much. There's a reason you have to have a permit to move live ones, because ...more they don't want them to leave and
    3. wolfling66 0
Ohio and Texas has different laws. We are more free than yall. Laws won't be the same. Know something before you say it or you will be the one looking like an ...more idiot. @zweber13
    4. zweber13 0
      You guys are idiotic
    5. And stick to your little Ohio ways. As far as I know Texas doesn't even have a "dnr" also the amount of waste a carp that size puts out depletes oxygen. ...more Again hit the books and read up @zweber13
    6. Is no vegetation available for the catfish to eat. Maybe you should go back to 3rd grade and read up on your fish. It's PRIVATE land. We don't need you or ...more TPWD telling us how to run it @zweber13
    7. Lol dude who do you think you are. Tpwd doesn't care and it's a private pond so we can shoot any fish we want. It's also considered a pest by the way ...more it clears out the vegetation in a pond so there
    8. zweber13 0
      I'm sure they do
    9. wolfling66 0
We have done this before. No warden has gotten on to us and some TPWD praise us for doing this. @zweber13
    10. zweber13 0
      Pest management or not
    11. zweber13 0
Shooting them once they're out of the water would certainly be legal, yet questionable and definitely unnecessary there are plenty of ways to dispatch fish if ...more you so choose. But in the water = illegal
    12. wolfling66 0
We have a couple more some bigger some smaller. @nicleblanc10
    13. nicleblanc10 0
I bet it was pretty fun to catch a carp like that on rod and real @wolfling66 to bad you killed it, nothing else in your private pond will fight that hard
    14. wolfling66 0
It's not your pond and we don't need your help running it. @lainedillard
    15. Laine Dillard 0
The fish aren't pest like you say they are and I catch them that size and bigger on 6 lb line it's not that big ou far deal to land carp on light line
    16. StantonAL 0
Ive done the same thing, except my buddy was bringing one in twice that size on my ultralight with 6 lbs test so after a 20 minute fight and not slowing down, i ...more popped it in the head and we got him.
    17. King_Fisher 0
      Force,
    18. King_Fisher 0
You aught to be extremely carful shooting in water with a 22 I no some one who got killed that way because a 22 has such little force especially cb's it will ...more ricochet right of the water with the same.
    19. wolfling66 0
It's legal since I shot it while it was on a rod and reel. @lainedillard @zweber13
    20. Fairly small pond*^ @zweber13
    21. They shot it because it was destroying the habitat for all the other fish in the dau
    22. wolfling66 0
We view it as pest removal. @zweber13
    23. wolfling66 0
We view it as peat removal. @zweber13
    24. Laine Dillard 0
Shooting fish with fire arms in the water is illegal in most states
    25. zweber13 0
Also it's not legal in Texas to shoot any fish, invasive or not with a gun even on private property. Texas dnr is very clear on that
    26. zweber13 0
@nick220722 is right it really doesn't seem like hunting. Also I question why it took 2 shots and why you would even want to shoot that animal
    27. Nick Davis 0
How is that fishing? Seems more like hunting to me...
    28. wolfling66 0
The net. It's perfectly legal since we are in our own private pond.

    4. Calvin Fease 0
Just FYI, even though many lure companies call that fish a Pumpkinseed, it's actually a Longear Sunfish.
