About

I've been a tournament angler since 1986, competing mainly in saltwater events from family rodeo style events, to major offshore tournaments, ...more to the Southern Kingfish Association pro division, to 2 different redfish tours. In the last few years my son (now 23) introduced me to kayak fishing and kayak tournament fishing. Man, it's like discovering fishing all over again. I'm totally connected. Now I fish nearly 100% kayak and compete tournaments all year for inshore species and bass covering the entire south east. I've been fortunate in my successes in the kayak, I think mainly because I bring 3 decades of experience to the table. I've got some bucket list fish I want to catch out of the kayak--paddle fish, sturgeon, swordfish, muskie. And I enjoy exploring all the famous and out of the way lakes all over the US. Doing it from the kayak makes it simpler, cheaper and really more accessible. When at home in Vero Beach, FL I guide for inshore species along the Indian River Lagoon and for bass on the world famous lakes in our area.

Fishing Favorites

  • Species Seatrout, snook and redfish are my 'home fish', along with bass in the famous lakes of central Florida.
  • Waterway I'm at home on the Indian River Lagoon, and my home lake is Blue Cypress.
  • Lure I'm not too proud to use soft plastics, plugs and crickets and worms. Enjoy every aspect of angling.
