This is 8 year old Palmer Boyd's first tip up fish that he caught all by himself. Palmer has caught many fish from shore and in a boat however, this is his ...more first tip up fish that he's caught without any help. On this day, he was learning how to set up the tip ups as well as how to pull the fish in. Shortly after pulling a couple fish in with some help, he noticed a tip up flag went up. Palmer ran to the tip up as fast as he could and did everything right in order to pull this 27 1/2" walleye onto the ice. We were watching him from a distance and saw the large fish come onto the ice and then watched Palmer put his hands to his cheeks while he jumped up and down to celebrate his accomplishment.
