i was fishing on the skyway bridge in st. petersburg fl .using live bait,i thru my bate in the ocean, and waited for a bite.i was fishing about 2 hours with no luck. ...more then my wife called on my cell phone.i heard it rigging in my van so i set my pole down carefully , and went to pick it up,she answered and,asked how it was going ,i told her not to well,as i turned around to check my fishing rod{{ it was gone.i mean gone no sign of it anywhere,i run to the bridge edge and peered over to the water.there i saw the last moments of my rod and reel heading for the bottom. never to know what giant fish took my gear to the bottom of the gulf.
