1. Still plenty of ice out there. the main channel is broken up but the bays still have 24+ inches in some spots. bluegills, crappies and perch have all been decent ...more lately. Fatheads and waxies the preferred baits...Trout season opens up April 1st so we are gearing up for that. Good Luck!!!!

We did NOT get the snow that Watertown received. Ice is bare and slippery, you will need studs on anything you try to move on the ice.
WARM TEMPERATURES WITH WIND LAST FEW DAYS PROCEED WITH CAUTION, MOST PLACES SHOULD BE FINE BUT YOU NEVER KNOW.

Remember conditions change daily please us caution on ALL bodies of Water. Good Luck.

Reports of some nice catches of Pike have been taken in Chippewa Bay, Moon Lake and Perch Lake. Also reports of 9" perch in Chaumont Bay with a lot of dinks. Some fishing going on off of Round Island, catching some nice perch, should be a great weekend for fishing if the weatherman is right.

  3. Mostly all the anglers around this area have switched from bass, crappies and walleyes to concentrate on the musky action that is picking up nicely. Anglers are ...more trolling large profile baits such as Jakes, Dbl 13 bucktails, Grandmas and believers just to name a few. Although the muskies are getting a majority of the attention, we are seeing some perch and crappies start to make their way up river. They should continue to pick up in the upcoming weeks. Weather wise we are looking at some windy conditions for the nest couple of days and the temps should continue to drop. Fall fishing is heating up so stop on by and wet a line. Good Luck!!!

  4. The Elite Series just got done with a tournament this last weekend and it turned out to be a great tourney. Winning weight was 88 lb 10 oz. and the average fish ...more was right around 4 pounds. I’ll take that any day of the week. Bass have been a little finicky lately with the cooler nights that we have had this last week. We are finding them suspending in 35 feet of water. Crayfish and artificial worms have been the most consistent in catching these finicky fish. Pike are being pike. Cast just on the outside edge weeds and you should find them. Spoons and spinners have been productive. Perch have been all over the place, but the bigger ones have been deep. Anglers have been catching nice perch in 55’ – 60’ of water on fatheads. Walleyes are good early and late in the day. Fish the humps scattered throughout the river with jigs and jig fish. The weekend weather looks fantastic as of right now. The fishing should only get better. Good Luck!!!
