1. Never to young to FISH!

  2. The latest water temps are hovering around 57°. We have had a lot of wind and rain that cooled it down a little from last week. The lake water level is about ...more 6 feet up and clear. Fishing has been phenominal lately. Bluegills are being found in flooded shallows and can be caught with bee moths and crickets. Crappies are biting on jig and minnow combos. We are seeing a lot of big crappies recently and a lot of limits being caught. With the high water we are getting a lot of good catfish reports. Anglers are using anything stinky, stinkier the better. The trolling bite is on for wipers. Anglers that are trolling nightcrawlers and shiners are having the best luck. Haven’t heard much on walleyes. We are all stocked up and ready for anything. Stop on down and see us before you get on the water. Good Luck!!!

  3. We are starting to see more and more anglers hitting the water recently, which is a good sign. Crappies and bluegills have been the popular bite. Water is still ...more a little cold but fish should be transitioning to their spawning areas. They might be a little deeper because of the water temps. Minnows are working for crappies and redworms and bee moths are working for the bluegills. Catfish have been decent as well. Nightcrawlers and chicken livers has been the bait of choice. Anglers are reporting catching a lot of carp while fishing for catfish. We have also had reports of wipers being caught. Waters still a little cold for the walleyes to turn on so we haven’t heard a lot of reports. That should change here in the next couple of weeks as the water temps increase.
We are stock full of bait and lures so stop on by and say hi…Good Luck!!!

  4. The lake has frozen over. I don’t know if that is a good thing or not. The temps are still lower than normal, but the fishing has been pretty good. Recent ice ...more reports are about 6-8 inches and maybe a little bit more in the back bays. The water level did go down a little so be careful. Some of the other smaller lakes around the area have been producing some nice fish and the ice is a little better. Crappies and bluegills have been the most popular recently with a couple of bass mixed in. Crappie minnows have been doing pretty well but the beemoths have been out producing both crappies and bluegills. Good Luck!!!

  5. With the fall weather finally here to stay we are starting to see the fishing pick up. From crappies to walleyes everything is active. Crappies have been the focus ...more of much the angling pressure. Most of the action is on deeper structure, but they are spread out. Might find a couple of fish in one spot but then might have to move to stay on them. Anglers using crappie minnows and some small plastics are having the most luck. Catfish have been good with all the rain that we have had over the last couple of weeks. Nightcrawlers are the go to bait right now for cats. Walleyes are starting pick up but there are only a handful of anglers targeting them. Not a lot of anglers targeting them right now so our reports are few and far between, but they are saying that it is a better bite then the spring. That probably has a lot to do with the weather this year. Hopefully this fall stay normal and the fishing picks up as we near the end of another great season. There is still time to get out here and do some fishing, so stop on by and say hi. Good Luck!!

  6. The fishing has slowed a little this last week. with school starting and the heat people havent been fishing. Some anglers are out there and the reports are slim. ...more crappies and catfish have been fair. crappies and bluegills are hanging out in 10-12 feet of water. Crickets and crappie minnows are working. walleyes started to show up when we had that cool down, but with the water warming up again they will shut down again. we should start seeing more walleye action a little closer to fall when the water starts to cool. water temps are around 73° to 75°. Good luck!!

  7. You would think a massive cold front would turn off the fishing on a lake. But a massive cold front in July is just what we need to get the fish active. Crappies ...more have been excellent on artificial bait in the red/white or chartreuse color. Bluegills are pretty active in 4-7 feet of water on bee moths and crickets. Catfish have been fair. Mostly biting on nightcrawlers and stink bait. The lake level is up a little bit because of the rain but it will go down in a couple days to where it was before. And the water temps should go down to normal as it was pretty high during that heat wave we had. Fishings getting better so come on down and stop by. Good Luck!!!

  8. We had a lot of rain this last week and the water level raised up a little. Now we have the heat and humidity that makes it uncomfortable to do anything outside. ...more Due to the heat the fishing has slowed down a little, probably due to fisherman not fishing as much. Bluegills are fair right now, with crickets being the hot bait. Not seeing a lot for size but anglers are catching a lot of them. Catfish have been good with the high water and a little bit more current in the water. Chicken livers that are stinky is the best bait this last week, shrimp has been a close second. You can get both at the shop. Crappies have been going more on artificial baits. Red and white and chartreuse and black have been the hot colors. Fishing should pick up as the weather cools off a little bit and anglers can stand to be on the water with out melting in the boat. Stop in and check out the store and get everything that you need. Good Luck!!!

  9. Water temps are in the mid 70’s. Fishing is still hot right now, and anglers can enjoy fishing for all species. Bluegills have been fast and furious lately. We ...more are finding them suspended over 10 – 18 feet of water, only a couple feet down from the surface. Bobbers and a redworm about a foot and a half down should get you plenty of action. Catfish are going good right now on anything stinky. Crappies are a little deeper in the water column but in the same places as the bluegills. Just drop a crappie minnow 4 -6 feet below the float and you should be able to get some nice slabs. The only walleye action has come from trollers who are trolling nightcrawlers and picking up some walleyes. Good luck!!

  10. Catfish have taken over this last week or so. Reports are coming in regularly of some nice catches on nightcrawlers and chicken livers. We also have been selling ...more some goldfish to some anglers, which they said they were having success with. I think catfish will bite on just about anything right now. Anglers are concentrating on shallower water to find active catfish. Walleyes have been picking up, with anglers focusing on deep rocky points. Jig and minnow combinations have been productive. Wiper anglers are getting some good fish while trolling in the evening. Water is great, fishing is great, get down here and go fishing. Don’t forget to stop in for all your live bait and good advice. Good luck.
