1. Help me out. I am with the BFL and I have a few tournaments down there. I will be near the dam this month and around goose pond month after next.

  2. Check the map here and the spots that are marked. All are good. A lot of pleasure boaters so go south and fish coves with vegetation and Aldo rock with a lot of ...more shade.

  3. I did a BFL tournament and had great success with green pumpkin worm and creature baits at end of coves that had a lot ov cover. They were biting when we put the ...more worm as close to shore as possible. It had to be close or no bites.

  4. Set a spot

Will put a comment into the owners of this site to be able to make attachments. Already suggested upload and download of GPS waypoints

Hey, give me an email address. I have a couple of close fishing friends and we have consolidated out waypoints. The are a couple of spots/coves that I think would ...more be good for largemouth and smallmouth. Never fished them but they are right across from Sulfer creek on the main lake.

Fish the cuts that have pea gravel, rock and wood that are close to deep water.

Still try the jig and grub. Watermellon/Red is always good. Dye the tail chart. Also, 3 years ago I found a garlic spray product at Walmart that I swear works. ...more Its in a black can, forget the vendor but the lettering is red. Get the garlic and spray your lures throughout the day.

If you don't get bit on sinko weightless, add 3/8 oz weight and fish deeper on drops.

On Dale? Whoa dude. Those are smallmouth spots. Dale has special limits and as I said before, you wont win on smallmouth. Largemouth/Spotted/Smallmouth Bass: 5 ...more per day in combination, only two may be smallmouth bass. One fish may be under 16 inches and one may be over 21 inches. That wont win a tournament. Like I said before, haven't fished Dale for largemouth. Where are you going out of? I would honestly throw a fluke, clown colored jerkbait, watermellon jig, slow roll white/chart spinnerbait, and weightless sinko with 5/0 hook in the Obey River. Stop at all the cuts on the river and fish the primary and secondary points in coves. Lake is 3 ft below summer pool so up. Water temp looks like 48 degrees, cold. Pattern to start. You may want to line up a 10 ft craw colored crank bait also and slow roll it. Jointed Shad Rap is my favorite especially in spring on all lakes

Thanks Ted I will. I have a BFL tournament next week end.

Use a spinning rod with 6-8 lb test also. I do actually catch more and bigger fish on 6 lb test but hate breaking off when I get stuck so use 8 lb

Usually bait is summer/fall pattern. Fall craw spawn come out in spring so bait changes for bass. Hard to find on depth finder. Spawn transition is a bigger pattern ...more that finding shad in spring. Smallmouth on Dale I believe mainly spawn on main lake points and usually I catch them 15-25 ft deep in spring. Once mid June comes around use dynomite or fish at night close to drops and weeds. If you get down there again, try those spots with 3/8 oz lead head jig and the 4 inch grub.

Ted. i did go to the spots you laid out but nothing anywhere. i didn't even see bait.
    12. Ted Myers 0
Did you get a chance to fish any of the spots I put on Dale or did you head for the Obey for Largemouth
    13. Ted Myers 0
Good stuff. Cant see it yet. Must take some time to come through. Steve Curtsinger also marked some spots. If you connect with him you can see them. He is fishing ...more a BFL event on Patoka this WE

  5. Ted. Sorry but the creek is "walnut creek"

I dont think you actually saved your spot. You have to hit the green save button or you lose it. Should show up as a green tear drop on the Barren map for you ...more while all your buddies will be yellow. That facility is actually kind of goofy to use and I have had problems with it.
    2. Ted Myers 0
Thanks, I'll take a look at it. Do you realize you can connect to a lake to post and see fishing spots. In the Search box in the top left of the page make sure ...more it says waterways and type in Barren. Then you have to connect to Barren. Then go to Maps on the left, pull up Barren and you can mark spots as well as see your buddies spots.

  6. Ted go to the end of eagle cove and fish the brush and trees.

  7. Go south and check coves with brush and trees. Chatter baits (white trailer and chartruese skirt)

Rip Rap on 31E has always been consistent for me. Never fished the coves you are talking about. Always fish the points and just into the coves on the other side ...more where the river channel goes and done well
    2. Ted Myers 0
Did you try any of the spots I marked for smallies?
    3. Tony Gonzalez 0
Yes I did, but the fish where no place in the lake. I could not even see them on the graph. Bait was scarce.
    4. Ted Myers 0
Did you have your tournament on Dale Hollow yet?
    5. Tony Gonzalez 0
That is right. Go get them.
    6. Ted Myers 0
31E I assume or you talking about 98 bridges?
    7. Tony Gonzalez 0
First after the bridge to the right or west.
    8. Ted Myers 0
On Barren? Any particular coves you like because I don't see any marked on my map.

  8. Thanks Scott, great fishing. I go to the lake every year to fish and to meet my friends. Can I get locations to use.

  9. Ted how do I see where your spot is. I have a tourney
    Coming up soon.

    1. Ted Myers 0
Put it as my profile picture. Far cry from bass fishing. :)

Sorry, been on vacation in Hawaii. Will post a monster I caught deep sea fishing. I'm assuming the tournament is artificials only. I would use a 1/4 t 3/8 ...more oz lead head jig with 3-4" grub ealy in the year. Drag along bottom. Generally watermellon with red fleck. On real sunny days sometimes salt/pepper works, overcast/rainy days black with red fleck. Unfortunately you will not weigh 5 smallies because of laws. You will have to find good largemouth and I haven't really fished Dale for largemouth.
    3. Tony Gonzalez 0
Go to the map and they are shown with a marker.
    4. Barry Carson 0
How do you find them Tony? I have been looking and I can't find them either.
    5. Tony Gonzalez 0
Ted I found them. Thanks. What do you suggest on doing there.
