  1. Details: Smallmouth Bass

    My first fish of 2016 is a 18"+ smallie out of the Upper Clinch River near Sneedville.The water was moving pretty fast and still a little stain from the recent ...more rains we've had.I casted out to the main current and dragged the craw at a medium paste and slightly twitching it to were I got to a current break which is were I got this big guy at.It was mostly cloudy,38 degrees,with a NW 6 mph wind.

      It was definitely a fun fight with this guy,he jumped about 4 times and made run for it in the main current before I was able to land him.

  2. Details: Bluegill Sunfish

    Caught this bluegill at around 7:00 pm. That's about the time they start to bite in the evening.

    #Tbt to my biggest trout ever! So ready to get back out for some trout. Going out to the smokies over thanksgiving break, gonna see if I can't get any mountain ...more trout. Used a bass pro MicroLite and a Shimano spinning reel with 6 pound mono to get this one. Drifted out the crawlers to the deepest part of the section. Hooked up as soon as it hit the bottom.

      I usually use a 1/16 or a 1/8 but I don't think it really matters much I like using brighter colors my favorite is a bright orange and green one I have

      I live in NC and fish the mountain rainbows here and in Tennessee where my grandparents live.. Use bright colored rooster tails and work them upstream past the pools

      Yeah basically. About a mile down from the BIG dam. It's like a concrete structure that goes across the river. Allows some water to go under when the dams off ...more but most of it stays above the dam. @crookcody19

  4. Details: White Bass with a 1/16th ounce roostertail

    What a great birthday. They got me a kayak this morning and I took it out later. A little learning curve but I love it. Great fun being out there, it changes the ...more game. Even though I only got this little striper it was a great day. -Conditions; 63°F air temp, 59°F water temp, fish were very inactive all day, only place I could find them was a little drainage pipe that went to another part of ⬇️⬇️

      Gusts of wind ALL day, about 5 FOW visible only 1 foot, cloudy, near 6 o'clock, roostertails were the only think that worked (tried spinners, flukes and cranks), ...more the fishing is starting to slow here.

      Oh yeah that's how it is on the clinch. It gets so heavy you can't see 10 feet. It's a very cold fog too. It also comes in waves. @TennesseeTroutboy

      Come to the obey it fogs every day, sometimes it's so foggy if you're on the bank you can't see the water @Mason_Cizek

  6. Details: Golden Rainbow Trout with a Salmon egg

    First time wading and freshwater trout fishing while visiting Tennessee...beautiful river downstream from dam...water 55 degrees!! Caught a total of 7 no big ones ...more but it was a blast!

      16 and 17 inch rainbows and a 20 inch brown with just worms. Also hooked in to a monster probably 7-8 pounds with just Nightcrawlers...

      I know exactly where you're talking about. I fish there sometimes, if you come back again go to what they call the weir dam and float night crawlers with small ...more weights in the rapids below. I've gotten

      There was a trout hatchery across the street...also fished Loudon and caught a few nice bass and crappie...Trout was by far the best experience...besides taking ...more a spill(cold) lol it was awesome!

    I've already posted the pic on the top, but just wanted to show y'all how far a little editing can go. It can really bring out the colors of the fish. I ...more usually just use the picstitch app, put a scenery enhancement over it and go over to "adjustment", and edit to bring out it's best colors

  8. Details: Brook Trout with a Drifting Nightcrawlers

    A nice big brook from earlier this year. Went 13 inches if I remember correctly. Big ole fight on this guy. Also had some scars on his tail from where fishing line ...more had been wrapped around it. -Condtions; 9:30ish, sun was behind some trees, 75*F air temp, 41*F water temp, 7 FOW, visible all the way down, no wind, casted into some rapids and letting it drift to deeper water. ⬇️⬇️ more down below

      All were catch and release, except for one which swallowed the hook to deep, was given to a fisherman who was keepin them

    My 3 biggest trout this summer. Sad summer is already gone. -All caught in the same deep pool, hooked into a 26 incher but he knocked the hook out of his mouth ...more with his tail. -Setup; Bass Pro MicroLite ultralight rod, Shimano 2000 R reel, with 6 pound Spiderwire mono. -Conditions; All days were sunny, zero wind, low 80s. All were caught around 10:30. The sun made the bait easier for the trout..

      To see. Top right was 16.5 inches, top left was 17, and the bottom is my PB best trout at 20 inches, a big brown.

    Much of the reservoir is in Tennessee so be mindful that you must stay on the Virginia side if you only have a Virginia fishing license and the opposite goes for Tennessee fishermen.
